Advice on upgrading my geforce 8800 gtx card?

Hello,
I need some advice on upgrading my Geforce 8800GTX graphics card please. I currently play Rift and will be playing SWKoR in the near future. I was looking at the Geforce GTX 560 Ti, and I don't know a whole lot about upgrading hardware on PC's. I just want to be sure I can buy and just plug into my system, in place of the 8800. My system specs below:

OS Name Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium
System Model Dell XPS720
System Type X86-based PC
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz, 2400 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 8.00 GB

Any help is appreciated.

Yes should plug straight in PSU should be able to handle it as well since it did the 8800GTX but be right on the limit. The CPU at 2.4GHz will be the bottleneck in the system. GTX460 1GB might be a better choice.

Yes 560Ti might be a bottleneck for your system.You may choose any one of these cards :HD6850,HD 6790,550Ti,460 or anything lower.

Just bought the GTX460. Was wondering should I uninstall all old video drivers prior to installing new card, or after I install new card and turn on my PC for the 1st time after installing card? Also will I have to disable onboard video or is that usually done by Dell? I have original GTX8800 that Dell had installed when I purchased PC 3 years ago. Hope I make sense here

Delete the old card in device manager prior to shutting down to install the new card, I do not think you have onboard but would be disabled anyway. Install drivers for the new card after starting up with it. Newest drivers here http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
