As the title says my Trident Z RGB no longer turns on i tried turning it on with the Trident software its still doesn't show any signs of turning on?

Before i installed the software the lights of the RAM were working just fine! And i am running out of idea.

Hey all - I made an account just to respond to this because I had the same issue. RGB just stopped working and went dark on my ram after installing Armoury Crate. It had worked fine for at least a year prior, and in all other systems.

I see there are lots of other posts online but no one had an answer anywhere for this. I was ultimately able to solve the issue by entering the Asus bios, turning all LEDs to "off" (not sure if this was necessary because I bundled steps) and then I started the bios flash utility. I was going to flash the bios to see if that helped, but I didn't even have to - when I started the flash utility the RAM lit up (though all the other LEDs turned off because I'd turned them off).

Then I rebooted, enabled the LEDs, and after that it worked fine and was recognized by Armoury, etc.

I believe this is a bios issue, some firmware being overwritten or something. RGB is a wild-west of proprietary technology and a total mess. Hopefully they adopt some industry standards at some point, but for now, I hope this helps.

Thanks for this suggestion. I've had this issue happen today with a brand new build. RAM RGB (G.Skill) was working fine. Installed ASUS Armory Crate and the moment the installation finished, one of the RAM stick's RGB went off. Tried fixing it in the G.Skil Trident Z Lighting Control software, but then the other stick went off.

I've tried fiddling around in Armory Crate and also the BIOS Aura Lighting on/off in the BIOS, but it's still the same :/

UPDATE: It looks like this might have actually worked, but what no longer works is the G.Skill sync with Razer Chroma Studio. Could be a clash between Aura Sync and Razer Chroma. For now I've just set them separately in the G.Skill app and left them.

2nd UPDATE: This morning, after turning the PC on, the RGB on the RAM was slightly off. Tried to correct it in the G.Skill software, but they just turned off again (and were now only saying there were 5 LEDs instead of 8). Loaded up Armory Crate, and the RAM was now showing as a syncable device. Set it to sync, and the RGB is now syncing with the Aura effect on my motherboard. RGB certianly is a wild west!
