Question After ISP upgrade, why do only some programs connect to the Internet?

I connect to the Internet through a my own cable modem, using Ethernet, and my own router. Both are current. and I am on Win 10, with all current updates. I have a Aorus B550 Pro V2 Motherboard, with al l drivers current. There was a Comcast, aka xfinity. upgrade yesterday. After the upgrade, Firefox would only connect to the Internet periodically. Two of my programs, Gigabyte's Control Center and Elder Scrolls Online, have been losing Internet connection, or not finding it , periodically since then. Firefox is not finding connections. butt both Opera and Edge do. The connection lights on the Modem and Router do keep flickering, when all of this is going on, so they are connected. Any advice or ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Have you fully restarted your computer since the internet changes were done? If not, I would recommend it. You might also power-cycle your router as well just to refresh the connections.

And to follow @rgd1101 I will ask what make and model for both modem and router?

Are both devices supported by your ISP?

Flickering lights - are those lights applicable to connectivity or internet/network activity?
