My computer won't shut down. When I do that, window normally logs off and my screen goes black without signal but the power won't go out. I left it overnight and it didn't shut off. For the last week since I bought the installed the GPU I had to force-quit it with physical power button. I installed the graphics card driver via nvidia.

This also coincided with a window's 10 update.

I don't even know if it is my new GPU causing this or if it is a software problem.

Please help!

p.s. Windows 10 update seems to have failed to be installed thanks to this. I tried manually installing it and I got "We couldn't install some updates because the PC was turned off."

Update your post to include full system hardware specs.

You are using the normal Windows Shutdown icon to shut down - correct? Versus just flipping the power switch....

If the computer is operational look in Reliability History for error codes and warnings.

A premature power-off may have caused some file corruptions.

Try running "sfc /scannow" (without quotes) via the Command Prompt.
