Who fricken cares about DX11 or console vs pc... how about making the games not require 5-10 gig install.. and 20 minutes of jumping threw hoops..for windows live.
Maybe the windows platform should go back to being an operating system instead of an entertainment system. Then maybe MS or someone else could make a PC game platform that you could install only to play games.
Then come up with a uniform system requirement or different levels for different games. If your system is say.. level 3 and the game you wish to play requires a level 5.. then you should not buy the game.
I realize that each game has required system specs on the box.. but even if you meet those requirements.. your FPS can be less than desirable.
All I'm saying is.. get windows out of the way.. and let the hardware do what it was meant to do.
Just my 2 cents.

[citation][nom]badaxe2[/nom]T In short, you really have to have the time to invest and cash to burn to be a serious PC gamer. I'd like to have my PC last at least 4 years, maybe with an upgrade half way and serve me well, and not have to be upgrade-bound every time I can't max a game out, which is part of the point of PC gaming. [/citation]

But that's advantage of PC! If you do not want upgrade you can! You still will have graphics better than console. But if you do have money, you can upgrade and get the best money can buy. Thus you have the ability of flexibility and choice. With console you do not have that. You get what you paid for, not more and no less.

Too bad its banned in Australia, how do I buy it now? Well up yours Australian Board of no R18+, you promoted piracy so when the world goes anti-piracy I hope you're punished for your actions to!

Does anyone know if Aussies would still be able to buy this off Steam?

Superior graphics or not, it'll still require about half a dozen patches and hotfixes before it'll work on most systems, as is the norm with PC games!

My opinion is that people who "bash" consoles for any reason are secretly jealous of them or envious of the people that have them. To say any platform is better than the other solely depends of the gamers taste. There are 4 major gamming platforms not to mention all the mobile ones out there so pick the one that fits you the best and be happy with it....in the end it's consumers world.

Most people need a PC in any case. The price premium to make a new computer gaming-ready when buying it starts at around $200 - $50 for a CPU upgrade and $150 for a discrete GPU. Even less if you only need console-like graphics or would need a powerful CPU in any case. So saying you need to shell out $800-$1000 for a gaming rig misses the point. Sure that will be old tech in a few years, but so will a console; at least you can make incremental upgrades with a PC.

Played the demo. Game feels very unfinished and lag infested network code. Just not smooth at all. Apart from the characters the environment was boring and plain. Graphically the game reminds me of PS2 quality. Textures could be a lot better and everything is flat with no detail. The screenshots are their marketing scheme to make you think the game is actually decent. Aliens are also SLOW and weak with quirky movement (not as good as avp1 or 2). Marine weapon highly innaccurate. Predator is fairly fun because it's hard to block his melee attacks. Better ranged weapons then marine. In truth, see the demo for yourself. Very disappointed.
