Question Alienware 17 R4 Perfomance

for some reason my alienware 17 r4 i7-6700HQ gtx 1060 6gb 8 gig of ram 512 ssd and 1tb hdd. It is not performing to the best of its abilities when it is not connected to an external display. for example, minecraft running on the laptop by itself will get an average of 80 fps. When it is connected to my tv it will get 500-600 fps at 1080p and at 4k it will get 200-300 fps. another example is far cry primal. on just the laptop by itself at 1080p ultra settings it gets an average of 30 fps, but when connected to my tv at 1080p it will get almost a straight 60 when at ultra settings with a dip here and there to 55. If any of you have any ideas please let me know. Thanks.

- I ran the benchmark test unigine heaven. And my gpu uses 100 percent. But when gaming I get FPS drops and low gpu usage

My alien ware 17 R4 is not performing as well as it should. on minecraft i cant get a stable fps 60 fps, but it is only using 15 percent gpu. My alienware has an intel core i7-6700hq, 8 gig of ddr4 ram, gtx 1060 6gb. I have the gpu set for prefer maximum perfomance in nvidia control panel. and i made sure it is using the dedicated gpu. Please help me. I have been trying to find out the solution for a while, but I have not been able to find a fix.
