Alienware - Aurora R4 won't react after 10-15 mins of idle.

Hello,

I've been searching the internet for an answer since two weeks now.

Here's my problem.

I'm using a 2 year old Alineware Aurora R4 pre-build computer. It originally came with a 1TB HDD but I now use a Samsung EVO 120GB as the OS SSD. The HDD is where I keep my multimedia and such.

Two weeks ago I noticed, that if I leave the PC alone for 10-15 minutes and return, no software will start (nothing, neither Task Manager). All the already running software works!

When I try to Restart or Shut Down, the system will hang and won't. I need to hard reset.

I did the following :

- Reinstalled Windows 8.1
- Applied all the drivers
- Applied the new FW for the Samsung EVO SSD


Problem still persist.

Please help me.


Note: The paste on the CPU was never replaced, somebody told me to do that cause the system is 2 years old now... can it be?

Already did that as well, nothing seems wrong.

Since the Alienware come with full warranty i suggest seeking help with the retailer you got it from.

Warranty expired already, and in their forum nobody wants to help me.
