Alienware Graphics Amplifier Question

Just received my Alienware 17 R3 with the 4k screen and amplifier. I'm trying to figure out what card I should put in there. Will the AMD 390x or fury x be ok? Or should I just pay the extra for a 980 ti? Just not sure what to put in there. I heard the new AMD cards can be better than the rival Nvidia ones but those are probably just fanboys. Thank you for your time in assisting me with this.

That "Graphics Amplifier" (actually just an external enclosure) has only 460W power supply (and likely not a good one at that), so the 390X is out of the question. Fury X might not work due to the liquid cooling , you'll need to ask dell about compatibility. 980, 980Ti, and Titan X should all work
