I have an Alienware x51 R2 and I am looking to upgrade the graphics card, but I am having problems because of the small power supply. It comes with a 745 OEM with 4gb video memory, and i've read the card has about 50W usage, but not 100% sure. The stock power supply is 330W, its external and looks fairly specialized so Im not sure if I would be able to upgrade the PSU. Space is not an issue, the case has room for dual slot cards, and I would prefer to have another nvidia card installed. Im just looking to make this PC more powerful, so i'm not sure if upgrading another part of it would be better.
Thanks,

Yesterday i just installed on my Alienware x51 R2 330w i7-4790 - 16GB ram a PNY XLR8 Geforce GTX 980 CG 4GB ( cumsontion for this card is only 165w) So is compatible with an Alienware X51 R2 ( only is you have a psu 330w) is working like a charm. Games like witcher 3 fps are above 60. make sure youll get this model PNY XLR8 Geforce GTX 980 CG thats the best that you can get for now. its around 519 in amazon. the card will fit. only you need to remove the small front fan and replace it if you want with a thinner one.
