Question All in ONE Pc not detecting SSD + HARD DRIVE

I was planning to upgrade my pc to an ssd while keeping

the hard drive too for storage I had a 120gb ssd lying around so I cloned the OS and everything etc over to it. The Pc works fine if I connect just the SSD, I booted into windows, tested everything etc. (using the proprietary connector directly) The connector is basically those 7+15 cables coming from a SATA and a proprietary power source.

I bought a SATA power splitter to split the power to the SSD and Hard drive given its a proprietary cable anyway. (Cuz I don't have any other way or powering)

I'll be attaching an image, it should be understandable as for what I'm trying to achieve here, and yes I decided to sacrifice the CD drive I have tried both the Sata ports on the MB they boot into windows just fine.

I'm unable to get it to boot when connecting both the ssd and the hard drive using the splitter and different Sata cables

It's the HP Pavilion All-in-One - 27-q101in

Have you tried keeping the power/splitter connected to both drives but only the ssd has sata plugged in? If the system boots ok then it might not be the splitter it might be because 2 versions of the OS trying to boot at same time but boot order not set up correctly or did you format the hard drive? If the system can boot ok with both drives powered but just ssd sata connected then you could try just hdd then either using bootable media to get into installation of windows and then deleting all partition on hdd but then afterwards instead of continuing with windows install turn system off and then boot into ssd with deleted hdd connected or try boot same but while system on then connect hdd sata (hotswapping) although this is not really recommended unless the drive is already set up that way to enable quick disconnect like usb drives

Does the BIOS see both storage devices?

I suspect your splitter may be the problem. Does the system start if only the HDD is attached (you said it started with the SSD only already)?
Yes
The HDD is what the Pc originally came with.
And I have tried powering the HDD using an external Psu, while having the SSD connected to the one that's already there, the HDD didn't show up in the BIOS or device manager. Just directly booted into the SSD

Yes I have tried with keeping both the drives plugged into power, but only the SSD connected using a different Sata cable, it still didn't boot. And yes I have formatted the HDD.
The splitter does power the HDD, I can hear / feel it spin up when I try to Boot.
