I AM looking to be able to play Skyrim on maxed out settings with at least 60fps.
if this system i have built can't do that i would appreciate any help or suggesting.

good thing you put it up here. you are missing a hard disk drive. dont tell me you plan to store all your games and your OS on a mere 128gb ssd. space will run out very fast. i suggest you get a 1-2 tb hdd as a secondary storage for games with your OS on the ssd

i have been fighting with myself over going 960 or 970 for a while and if the 960 can do what i want which is play games such as skyrim atleast 60fps at max settings then i would rather save my money if possible.

they claim 10.4" but my 780 classified is 10.5" and i have at least another inch to spare. if the bottom cages were removed the card could go to the front panel though.

otherwise you might be right since that vapor x is absurdly long. the average person may want to spend a little more on either a shorter card or a better case.

Also $90? Get a cheaper case and spend the rest in a better ssd.

Doesn't it speak for itself? I just don't understand why everyone bombards the OP with a bunch of different builds which makes things a lot more complicated and sometimes disregard the budget they are using by going over 100 dollars.

Well he asked is the build could max skyrim at 60fps which the 960 is more than capable of doing so it would be pointless to pump more money into the system.

If you look at my build, it is actually cheaper and will give more fps. I don't think there is any good reason to get the 960 when such an awesome version of the 280x is selling so cheap.

Fair shout the 280x is a bit better and well priced but someone put the 970 in which really isn't necessary.

Yeah......the 970 is actually more of a 1080p/144hz card.

Here's my current build, and I have about a hundred mods installed with high res pack, runs at 60fps on ultra. You could probably downgrade the cpu and gpu by quite a bit. BTW, I just realised a couple of days ago that my current psu is a tier 5, and will be replacing it on the first with a tier 1.

trust me skyrim mods needs a gtx 970.

And what is the equivalen to r9 290 isnt the gtx 970? so why are u saying a gtx 970 is overpower?
