This is starting to drive me wacko. I'm re-visiting the notion of just getting a Noctua NH-D15.

@rubix_1011, Have you ever tried to water cool these newer motherboard chip-sets? There is probably a small performance boost there if they have a separate water cooling system.

I've cooled NB in older gen systems, but really nothing in current-gen. I do recommend motherboard monoblocks though, they do tend to keep the power delivery components of the CPU cooler, especially when overclocking. There are also several stand-alone VRM blocks you can add-on, some are even universal mount.
