So, i buy a seagate hdd several months ago in preparation of my just completed build. I'm buying it from an online shop in my country and the model is the Seagate Barracuda ST2000DM001, which i confirmed with the seller and the picture. Several days after that the product came and it looks something like the picture below, so i'm sure enough that it's the product i want.
Skip down several months later to today, where i've just finished building my pc, installing some programs, and running some test, i noticed something odd. So, one of the monitoring software that i used is HWiNFO64, and it reads that my hdd's model number is in fact ST2000VM003, from the Seagate Pipeline lineup, which is noticably slower than the Barracuda lineup. One more thing that support this is that one of the test i run is from the userbenchmark and it also shows that my hdd is in fact ST2000VM003. Here's a readout from all those program:
So, did i just get ripped off? Or is the software reading wrong somehow? Any comment, guess, and explanation are welcomed.
