Ah, yeah I think it only came to retail in 2017. It was available for OEMs for Bristol Ridge in 2016 IIRC.

Where have you seen confirmation that Ryzen 4K is AM4?

AM4 is implied. AMD stated four years support for AM4, which is into Q2´21.
Not a whisper about AMD leaving out on that promise.

I agree about Ryzen 4K and AM4, but as far AMD is concerned AM4 launched in 2016 and they said they'd support it through 2020.

The 4000-series is planned to launch in the 2nd half this year (Q4?), so that's not an issue. If there's a further delay due to unforeseen problems they won't change the socket...
(And my best guess is that the releases of both the 3000- and 4000-series were originally planned to be even sooner, in line with the 12 month interval set up between the 1st and 2nd generations of Ryzen. Then they were postponed due to the delay of Navi and Intel not being able to put up a fight.)

im still on x370 chipset with r5 1600x...its still holding fine
x470 has no changes (for me) and id love to switch to x570, but its overprized
will see if ill switch to x670 alongside with new cpu
