i just overclocked my 955 to about 3.8 and im running at about 36-40c tops , having done stress test or large cpu load due to having a trash gpu but this temp seem ok? i thought about maybe lowering my cpu volts a bit but if its not neededt then ill just leave the bios as is

alright i run the stability test in the amd overdrive and it keeps failing(rebooting system) so iv been messing with bios trying to find a stable spot for 3.7-8 anyone know some voltages or multplier vaules to set at? im not sure exactly what to change to get it stable besides cpu voltage but i dont want to raise it to much due to heat? i also tried doin just the multiplier only but that was unstable then i tried mix of multipler and fsb but still unstable, im going back to voltages to see if i can stable it out during the test... IDEAS WOULD BE GREAT !:)

alright thx iv got it stable for the most part... it fails under extreme load all 4 cores at 100% but other then that it runs for hours solid :) might up the cpu volt a bit to help stablize it more

will i need to raise ram volts when i oc cpu and ram? im having a hard time stabilizing the cpu at 3.7-3.8 but i increased my ram ratio to hit higher mhz so was wondering if i needed to raise the rams volts a bit to stabilize?

alright well i got it stable at 3.6 on stock volts.. only upped the multiplier... what should i do to hit 3.7-8? maybe raise fsb and lower multipler? wanting to get as high as i can on stock volts but ill raise volts if needed

figured that i might set it at 3.7 by upping fsb and lowering the multi and uping the volts to 1.35-1.4 tops... ill just mess around with it later thx :)

try cleaning the cpu and fans base, reapply thermal grease to lover your temps, but increasing voltage will increase temps, check out mine below

lol 4012MHz at 1.36volts hehe looks like i got a good chip again, just like my old C2D 5200 @ 3.77GHz stock voltage

wow thats insane... i can only go as high as 3.6~ on stock volts.. havent had much luck getting anything else really really stable... i can hit 3.7 but atm 3.6 does just fine

with the temps ddue, try cleaning the base of the CPu and heat sink and re apply, i hear the V8's are really smooth on the base, maybe too much thermal compund, also try to drop voltages when you at the max OC

im stable at 3.71 at around 1.38-1.39 volts so im happy ill go higher if i need to but the gain wont be that much cause at 4.0 ill run to hot anyways 3.8 or 3.9 would be as high as i would go

hi all ive managed to get a 100% stable 3.92ghz overclock with setting, ( fsb 245, multiplier x16, vcore as stated by cpu-z 1.47v, load temps 45c,
the only issues i had getting it to that clock was my ram, due to bios limiting the voltage to only 2.25v ment i could not run them at there recommended 2.4v, so i had to drop the frequency down to 400mhz,
talking of the bios does anyone know why the voltage settings are so limited because when i first installed the ram and cpu i had to up the voltage of the ram in order to make them run stable, and at that time it did allow me the options to u the ram to 2.4 but now it does'nt for some strange reason, if someone could shed some light on why, i would be very greatfull.

there 4gb geil evdone 1066mhz and the recommended voltage is 2.4, which is quite high to be honest

the ram speed i can live with, but i want to get the cpu past 4ghz but i have run out of voltage, i can not up it any more in the bios, is there any way around this. currently its at around 1.45v.

it just seems a bit strange that i was able to set them to 2.4 when i first instaled them but i can;t now, i checked on the asus site before i bought the board and ram to make sure that the board supported the ram. and it did.
