Hello I'm thinking over getting a r9 390 8gb with the A10 or get a FX 6300 now and wait for the r9 390 8gb later. Before I make my decision I have a question, with my A10-5800K @4.7 Ghz and 2700 Mhz NB Frequency, I just like to know what other cpu does it compare to at those cpu ratio and nb frequency? Thanks in advance. :)

If you can afford a build with an Intel i3-6100, perhaps even without a GTX 750 Ti, it will work. Basically the A10 processor is weak so I wouldn't recommend it with an R9 390. Not good for the future.

Something like this is always a solid start:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i3-6100 3.7GHz Dual-Core Processor ($123.88 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: Asus H110M-A Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($58.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Memory: G.Skill NT Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($33.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($46.89 @ OutletPC)
Case: Cooler Master N200 MicroATX Mid Tower...
The A10 is not meant for setups with discrete graphics card. The only good purpose of the A10 is that it is has ok onboard graphics, for people who don't want to buy, or can't afford a graphics card. The A10-5800k I think is just an Athlon X4 processor with like R7 240 Graphics (could be wrong, maybe even weaker).

Now the other problem is you're saying I'll get an FX-6300 and get the graphics card later, however FX-6300 doesn't have onboard graphics at all. So with an FX-6300 build you have no display option at all until you get a seperate graphics card.

Yeah, didn't think the second part through. I currently have a 750 ti and should have mentioned that. For that I apologize.

So I assume from what I hear and see that even if I get the r9 390 with an a10, it would be probably a poor upgrade option in terms of apu w/ discrete gpu?

And for the second question, what cpu would you recommend that I can get now with a 750 ti and later wait to get a r9 390?

I was considering intel and still am to be honest.

Thank you very much.
In all honesty I considered this once or twice with going with skylake. Now I see that my a10 won't cut it even if I get a higher end gpu. So I'll go for the better cpu build.

Thank you kindly.
