My FP Data Types to add to IEEE 754
They don't add stuff to IEEE standards "just because". And merely being in the standard doesn't guarantee that anyone will actually implement it.

So, if you're really serious about this, then:
  1. figure out some cases where a different format can provide a measurable benefit.
  2. Either prototype it or at least simulate it to test how well it matches your expectations.
  3. Publish it your findings.
  4. Join the IEEE.
  5. Submit a motion to get it incorporated in the 2028 version of IEEE 754.
Talking to us about it any more is pointless.
