and merry late christmas everyone, i was moving yesterday so i couldn't post

Question really is, beyond quad core it could get interesting..for both AMD-Intel
Like a boxing match..take out one comeptitor and there's no fight in a two man match.

Nvidia's I'd say looking at CPU market

AMD need to make a high-end cpu matching (or being better than) the i7. Maximum 3.33 clock speed with 4 cores (or 6). Similarly, Intel would do well when the rumored 'i9' hex/six/sex core processor comes out.
The earliest likely date for AMD matching or exceeding Intel's offerings on desktop for raw performance is Q1 2011, and that is the best case scenario for them, with no guarantee of being able to do that.

I agree Chad. Not that I want bulldozer to fail, but with such a radical new design, plus adding HKMG, and new process it is very likely they will have great problems.

The process issues could be a real killer for them, especially with them having to add HKMG to the mix, hopefully not.

But I like what I have heard so far about Bulldozer and I think this could be a design more in line with the great designs for their time, that the K7 and K8 were.

As I gaze into my crystal ball, I would expect that Bulldozer will ramp slowly, and it won't be till Q4 2011 we will know for sure whether AMD will be back on track or not.
