We saw rapid growth of multicore processors in 2009. After AMD launched AthlonII X3/X4 series products, it greatly lowered price of multi-core processors, while the release of Windows 7 also has great effect. This also make Intel products basically lose its price performance.

In fact, Pentium G6950 s performance make me a bit surprised. after all, it was based on the latest architecture, but obviously this still can not make up core number disadvantage This also shows that core clock is not very important now. when a ordinary dual-core processor face a triple processor will has obviously disadvantage .
on one hand, performance is one factor, other the other hand the prices also is an important factor to decide whether to buy. AthlonII X3 425 price is only $70,but Pentium G6950 price is about $90. if we take into account entire platform price,AthlonII X3 425 motherboard price range is about $58-$73,and you will have many choices. Pentium G6950 whether buy P55 or H55,you will at lest pay $88. so the totally price difference is about $50.

The result is that AthlonII X3 425 in both performance and price performance all better than Pentium G6950 . Thus new product Pentium G6950 still can not threaten AthlonII X3 425 , So AthlonII X3 425 position in the market remains remarkably strong. Of course, if price of Pentium G6950 can reduce to lower than $66 quickly, Intels Core i3 price adjustments to below $88 ,consumers will have a really new choice.

Losing both price and perf, not good, since these are basic "business " cpus, where Intel is supposed to shine

probably depends on the number of units ordered as well. it may have changed since i was in close enough to see but AMD used to have their prices set at *** per 1k. Intel had theirs a little different. the more you bought they cheaper they became. by now I am certain AMD is doing similar as it just makes sense.

Hiya All,

Sorry not around and won't be much for a coupe of weeks yet (still nothing drivable and she totaled my car Dec 9th!), dealt with my Ins under uninsured motorisit for almost over 3 weeks since they had no idea how replacing hand controls was handled THEN Her Ins called saying they'd decided she was covered so began all over with Affirmative Ins which no ones ever heard of!

Had already bought another Newer but Oldish Caddy which arrived New Years Day from SC ($4000 plus $755 shipping so with Out of State Texas Expensive TX inspections might as well call it $5000). Since had no clue of real shape when a local Mechanic finally had 2 people and picked it up to do the Inspection I had him check out everything period while there plus wash and road test. So far seems in great shape but back tires are half worn out, should be ready for DMV soon and can't find my totaled 1991 Caddy's Title so will need to a duplicate then too before Ins can process the $2183.50 giving me for my ancient car. They did value to the nearest 50 cents?? *LOL*

(Actually supposedly will come ahead with new Ins since no $500 deductavle taken off, and they're going to pay me $2000 added to sign I will not sue them!
If didn't have to buy a new WC would be almost even and Med Ind may refund that)

Although another 4 weeks with no car and still haven't figured out how to get Car once Plates at DMV are on to the hand control place 12 miles away, takes 2 since I can't drive it without hand controls. New Ins Co is also having trouble with hand controls issue, so am keeping track of what spend and going ahead until they are ready to repay.

Old Chair was too big for last car tearing up area behind my seat so does not fit in
1998 Caddy El Dorado at all (My cars have to be a big 2 door and old to afford so only Caddy's are cared for well often). Looks new to me and is in really great condition just has 136,000 miles on it! The 32 valve North Star V8 Trans and Transaxle while complex are supposed to almost run forever if cared for so seems perfect. And since close to these are stlll built, really I hope I can get electronic parts if needed for this one but hope do not need them! Totaled Car needed $5000 in engine trans work and no engine computers except off junked ones, so in long term maybe will end up ahead.

Had to buy a new Wheelchair though which folds up to about 12" wide not 18" like current one also falling apart. Dealer issues too complex to list but should have it here about same time frame as when car has hand controls, in around 2 weeks.

Take care all, Dane

PS:

Now Questions: 1st any word at when HD5970 cards will be in stock to where are back at list price, not $150 to 300 over?

2nd: Release date expected and speed vs an i7 975 E of 32nm 6 core Desktop Extreme? Ballpark Value of an ES Extreme one in the next two weeks and I think are i9 but is there model names yet??

3rd: When is AMD's next released desktop family expected plus will it be the "BullDozer" or something arriving before that? I think it's to be 32n also but RV970 28nm or are both now to be 28nm? AMD Speed vs 32nm Intel on 6 cores also.

Thanks again, Dane

if we know anything, we know that low quantity, high end nv cards get gobbled up fast regardless of ridiculous price tag. baffling but early adopters spend with wreck-less abandon.

When I see the I7 975 EE with his price and one just for multiplication coefficient unlock, I find that exaggerate and when I think that Intel is going to stop I7 920 production

what?

use grammar

and why would intel stop production on the i7? it's their flagship for atleast another 2 years, and even if it isn't the flagship then it will be like the e5200, a very famous, versatile, OC heaven processor

don't worry ^^

yes the E5200 was o/c king . I have got E7200 o/c 3.8 ghz, he is really good to o/c but I try to reach 4 ghz but I must to increase the Vcore at 1.40 and it's hard
