Hello,
Hello,
After searching feverishly, this seems to be a good upgrade for me, but now I have a few questions that I couldn't find answers to. 1. Will my stock LE 1620 fan and heatsink work with the new cpu? 2. Do I also have to upgrade my stock video card?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Solution
you can use old fan and heat sink too, but if temps of cpu are crossing 60-65'c at full load then grabing a new heat sink is a good idea.

If you are purchasing a box cpu then it will come with a heatsink.

Here is a list of supported cpu for you board
www.e4allupgraders.info/dir1/motherboards/socketam2/ecsMCP61PM-GM_cpu.shtml

also consider using atleast 2gb of ram.
Motherboard Name ECS MCP61PM-GM (eMachines OEM)
CPU Type AMD Athlon LE-1620, 2400 MHz (12 x 200)
BIOS Version MCP61PM-GM V1.03 10/29/2008
Integrated: nVIDIA nForce 6100-430
Win 7 32 bit
2gb Ram

Not really sure what exactly was needed, but hope this helps. Looking to spend less than 60 dollars. Just need something faster mostly for facebook games. Looking to purchase AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+.

That's too technical for me. I just need to know if my current setup will work with the AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+. Most importantly, will I need to purchase a new fan and heat sink to use the AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ cpu.

ok amd athlon 5000+ or 5200+ is a good upgrade from athlon 1620, it will be 2-3 times faster, if you can find them then you are good to go
your onboard gpu geforce6150 nforce430 is sufficient for facebook games and also for some old games like nfs underground, gta vice city, gta sanandreas at low settings.

online/facebook gaming requires fast internet connection.
