IIRC from high school Electronic Communication classes:

TV (VHS, Beta, et al.) = 29.96 frames per second or ~30 essentially

Film (yeah the old kind) = 24 Frames a sec.

Not that it really matters. It's the only thing even out there resembling a benchmark.

For now all that can be said is that no one will truly know what is in store from green for a couple months, or whenever they decide to release something.

Don't get me wrong. There is nothing personal against you in my post. I am just pissed of the BS that can be found online. All the words and images from that article are copy-pasted from FUDzilla. The images are confirmed to be fake by the author of CPUz. Also the bold claims about the OC ability and the sandra score are coming from the mouth of the bosnian faker Fuad Abazovic(ex. the_INQ writer), owner of FUDzilla.
So far, there are only AMD estimations about K10, but no real benchmarks with specs. That pisses me off, also, especially after tons of marketing, bold claims and promises(read BS) from AMD.
 
im sorry but that computer looks completely retarded, if all that cooling is necessary then you will have to put the computer in another room just to be able hear anything.

I would imagine the entire setup would be highly unstable with a jolene blalock core the ambient heat load would be beyond belief but it would be a performance mark that would certainly be tough to top.

Back on subject... erhmm... It's now the 12th and there was supposed to be some form of release of something on the 10th and now it seems that it was just more vapour. K10 must be a gaseous state. 😀

Not only him, but most of the_INQ people are from ex Yugoslavia. Theo Valich is Croatian, Nebojsha Novakovich is a serb or croatian, not sure and there are other, but are writing occasionally. Although these guys are somehow coming from our ex country, I can't support their BS. And sometimes that BS stinks so much. The only the_INQ resident from the USA is Charlie.

Goes to show ya that nothing can really be determined by national origin. In many cases, Charlie is the worst lying one of the bunch! :lol:

Good catch on the TV/film fps flop-flip . . and if yah wanna get technical it's 29.97 NTSC (25 fps PAL/SECAM)

Orrrrr to get totally panty-wadded film=23.976 fps. Yah see . . .

An NTSC video image consists of 525 horizontal lines of information. The electron gun scans top to bottom, left to right, odd numbered lines first, then the even numbered lines. Each full scan of even numbered lines, or odd numbered lines constitutes a "field". Each field scan takes 1/60th of a second, therefore a whole frame is scanned each 1/30th of a second. (literally 29.97 frames per second)

Film is generally shot and projected at 24 frames per second (fps), so when film frames are converted to NTSC video, the rate must be modified to play at 29.97 fps. During the telecine process, twelve (12) fields are added to each 24 frames of film (12 fields = 6 frames) so the same images that made up 24 frames of film then comprise 30 frames of video. Video plays at a speed of 29.97 fps so the film actually runs at 23.976 fps when transferred to video.

Now, class (LOL), understanding that HD 1080 24p is the **Holy Grail** to get full benefit of 24-fps output, your TV/monitor has to accept a 24-fps input. OOOOPPPS!

Now, yah see, if the FILM INDUSTRY were not so cheap to shoot at 24fps (a standard since 'talkies' were born) we could all live happily ever after (and not have to worry about *real time* encoding because our lives would be that much more simple...)

On a related topic, since you were discussing it not long ago, I read on one site that the x2900xt (or whatever it's called) looks to overclock well when it's well cooled, which is intriguing since it's performance on that site suggested it falls between the 8800gts and gtx on an average of a few measures. None of that is multiply verified yet. I have several categories of info I use. There is speculative, speculative with some support, benches with problems in technique, apparently good benches, and finally multiply verified benches. I don't have the trouble many do from having only 2 categories! :) I put this for myself personally in the spec with some support for now, but that could change soon. I don't care to post links because I have nothing to prove to anyone, and could care less what they think actually (I don't care to prove anything to turpit for instance). It's kinda a head's up. What I wonder is if all the statements about AMdati made in the forum will be....openly acknowledged as errors if they prove to be..... I tend to like follow-up and review. I want to see further comments related to past comments. That's just me. I will tend to remember what was said as a kind of track record.

Well, Baldy, you may find this quite hard to believe as a forced coincidence, but it just so happens that one of the four years I cohabitated with that curvaceous Croat was in southern Catalonia. We would go into Barcelona frequently, which I found an industrial wasteland somewhat similar to Cleveland but with a lumpy church and better tapas. No, I never got any action in Barcelona, as we would reserve our action for when we got back home and rocked the rancho. 8)

As for the Barcelona chip... I don't care what anybody says. It's vapourware. Gas. Hot air. Nonexistent. There's no there there. It's nothing more than a figment of Hector's imagination.

If it wasn't, there would be a real benchy somewhere. There isn't. So it's imaginary. 8)

I always own my mistakes. Sometimes its just not accepted though :wink: I have eaten crow publicly everytime i have made a mistake here, and apologized for bieng an azz juat as often.

Thats just me, I dont like to do or say the wrong thing and mislead or whatever. I am pretty posotive i am one of the very few here that apreciates the strength that comes from taking your flack and noting it to all your peers.

Not everyone is that secure. I dont expect them to be. I know it bothers me to no end to not address my screw ups and admit them.

A mistake shows you actually said something about a complicated topic usually, where clear answers were hard to find most often. Gimme someone who makes some mistakes (like Einstein or Edison) but keeps at it anyway. 🙂 Surest way to success they say.
