Ok, then maybe we should add fantasized, idealized, glorified, figment of the imagination, and well, you get the idea. :kaola:

I have a feeling that Barcelona's performance will be no different than that of the current AMD chipsets.

They have been saying about it for a year now that it will be ready and they still haven't delivered the goods, come on boyos, pull your finger out.
I fear that they have lost the crown for many, many years to come.

Yup, that's going in the sig.

I just got through reading that article. Needless to say, it shows the lies from AMD about Barcelona for what they are. Even more, it casts a bad foretelling of what Phenom will be like. From what I've read elsewhere, AMD has thickened the SiO2 dielectric gate about 25% to control leakage at the sacrifice of overall clockability and performance. Unless and until AMD begins to make make progress on this area, the chips will suffer. I'm not an engineer, so I don't know the specifics on how it would be done, but something clearly must be done. As it is, Intel has a definite advantage in this area.

Yes, Intel has won. For pricing, all we need to do is look back to the prices of about two years ago and there lies the future. Its sad, but really, the past year has been a glorious one for enthusiasts. I guess the best thing would be to buy the best performance chip a person can afford while it lasts. If Phenom does perform well enough, and at the moment I don't think it will, we might have a little extra time. Otherwise, I'd look to higher pricing in another six months to a year.

Why me?

Now that we have the mascot issue resolved, all we need is some cheerleaders, ...and...oh yes...a team that could come close to winning would be nice.

$20 for a teddy bear
$30 for a cheerleading out fit with pom~poms

Rooting for the underdog........ priceless.

Unless of course you enjoying over paying for CPU's? :heink:

You'll get better performance overpaying for a $50 AMD dollar teddy bear than through all of AMDs priceless false promises and public relations hype

No foot in mouth for me. I'm well aware that barcelona did not meet AMD's expectations. I still find it interesting that some members here are saying that because the arcticle is so old that it no longer is valid, well this came from an AMD exec at a time when they were trying to secure a huge loan. We should not dismiss this that easily from either company.

Interesting...
I wonder where their information comes from?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA LMAO  :pt1cable:
