Hello everyone. I was going to buy a prebuilt PC from Cyberpower PC, but was persuaded by almost every video I watched to build my own. I've never built one myself before. My goal is to get 1080p 144hz. I want to overclock and push it safely as far as it can go. So far this is what I have in mind. Prices are just based off of amazon.

Games I want to / play: League, Dauntless, AAA games at minimum 60hz without dipping under.

Case: Still looking, I want a Full ATX for airflow I know that much.
MOBO: B450 - $119
CPU: Ryzen 7 2700 / 2700X - $209/$279 ( Comes with a cooler, but not sure how good it is.)
GPU: RX 590 8GB - $229
PSU: 650 /750 ? - $70 / $100
RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance - $75
SSD: 1TB Crucial - $119
OS: Windows 10 ( I saw a linus vid that said you can get it for free? granted its with a watermark but doesn't impact anything. Buying it isn't a problem though.)

2700 vs 2700x from what I researched its about 10% better for about 80$ more. Not sure if its worth for just 10%. I like to multitask while gaming and do a tiny (and I do mean tiny) bit of video editing so its why I chose R7. I want to play Dauntless with a friend, though reccomended is specs is an i7. RX590 competes with the GTX 1660ti which is slightly better, but for the price point is about $50 cheaper. PSU for watts needed with overclocking I checked the forums they said 650 was bare minimum so I'm guessing 700/750? Im trying to budget where I can, but spending a bit more for better performance is doable. As for brands of mobos / gpu I have no idea. I like ASUS rog strix but theyre so expensive. Gigabyte / MSI looks more budget friendly.

Help / feedback appreciated thanks guys.

2700X is great when you're not overclocking. If you are overclocking, the 2700 is a better choice... Maybe this will help you choose as well;

PSU is the last thing you should budget on. I recommend this;

I like that corsair case you picked out for looks. Exactly what I was looking for. My final question is about the stock wraith cooler that comes with the CPU is that sufficient enough for overclocking?

Okay so the only thing I've changed out was the RX 590 I really wanted to keep it a AMD build but for the performance that the 1660Ti gives for that extra $50 it's just better. Oh and I added rbg fans for the case, and ram was like an extra 100 bucks. Went with the 750watt corsair you suggested also.

Thanks for the help. Gave me the tiny push I needed.

The 2700X cooler is good enough. You're not going to get much higher clocks anyway. If you really want another cooler, I suggest the Scythe Mugen 5 Rev. B.

Might as well upgrade to a Vega 56 Pulse then. $300 and competes with the RTX 2060.

Or we'll wait for the AMD Navi announcement tomorrow, and we'll decide then what you should buy.

I totally forgot about the vega cards and being back to an amd build im totally happy while being still in the price range haha thank you. Is that 750 gold psu sufficient enough for everything? I know the only downside is the power that it draws.

Also on a side note does the pulse have that bios flash problem that some of the other cards like the gigabyte one?

You should go for a vega 56 if u have the budget it blows the 590 out of thr water also a ryzen 7 2700x is just the 2700 but factory overclocked. Also get a new cooler i can say those cpus run hoootttttt

Yeah I think I will. I swapped out the B450 for a X470 Mobo also. Also I do realize that things are slightly getting more costly from the first post xd. I can't afford much else so I'm at my limit with the X470 added on.

I'll just save some money and go with the B450 then. I'm too much of a noob at this to know whats good or not. I'm just trying to look forward when I decide to upgrade mostly.

2700x is not just overclocked 2700 but better binned 2700 (same goes for all x models). Because they are higher binned, hugher PBO (turbo) and XFR are allowed so need for OC is practically eliminated. It also comes with much better cooler and youd need an aftermarket cooler to bring non-x to 2700x level.
If gaming is primary role, you may be better off with 2600x now and later switch to 3600(x) or just wait a month or so. For future's update sake, a good b450 is best choice, just needs good VRM.

Final Build is
Case: Corsair Obsidian 750D
Mobo: MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon
CPU: Ryzen 7 2700x
GPU: Sapphire Radeon Pulse Rx Vega 56
RAM: 2X8GB Corsair Vengeance 3k MHz C15 RBG
SSD: 1TB Crucial
PCIE: Corsair Force MP500 120GB ( Just for Windows 10 OS)
PSU: 750w Corsair

I bought a 3 pack 120mm Corsair RBG fans. I like to multitask, possibly maybe try streaming in the future and I do a tiny bit of video editing. Also I know people don't like RBG, but as my first ever PC build I just wanna stare at it until I get tired.
