MOBO: MSI 970 Gaming
CPU: AMD FX8350 Black Edition
PSU: Corsair AX860i-Modular
RAM: HyperX-FURY 8GB
I already have R9 380X Graphics card but I might upgrade later.

CPU would be watercooled with H100 or H110.

What do you think about this kind of budget but I would like to believe powerful and reliable setup?

I am planning buying parts gradually. Like mobo and CPU first, then case and psu.

Do you have suggestions? Is it legit or should I start with i5 4690k and Z97 mobo for example. I can't decide, but I really feel I want to try that 8 core AMD build :) Thanks in advance!

He originally decided to buy an FX 8350 so if he can change his mind then he can also consider that an intel may not be his best option if he is streaming .

suggests very strongly that the conventional wisdom that everyone needs an intel is not always true , and thus not the best option for everyone .
The comparison of the FX with intel i5, i7 and socket 2011 processors is revealing . The extra core count is very helpful in streaming .

If you also factor in buying an FX 8320 , and decent $80 970 chipset board you can save hundreds of dollars on the overclocking intel build and have the same or slightly better performance . If you keep the same budget and buy the AMD processor you can move up an entire tier in graphics performance and have even better results

Thanks for info!

No one says you're required to buy a K CPU. What you're saying about AMD can also be true for Intel. You can get a non-K with a $45 motherboard. Or even a K CPU with a $45 motherboard.

Just putting in my 2 cents... i currently have a an FX 8350, i live in a hot climate (australia) and to actually get a cooler to get it to not overheat costed me 50% of the value of the CPU. I am now switching over to a Skylake processor.

If you are not in a rush, and are competent at OCing etc, to get a good budget PC, in my opinion, wait a couple weeks, AsRock are apparently in testing of Mobos that allow for OCing of non-K skylake processors (see article below), and will be cheaper than Z170 builds, pick yourself up an i5 6500, and OC it on one of these boards, you will save money and get similar/better performance. OR if you dont want to wait, pick up an AsRock Z170 board and overclock the i5 6500 as a current BIOS update will allow you to do this.

Overclocking non-K processors has too many drawbacks. For one thing, loss of hyperthreading (though now Asrock says no, so who really knows). Not to mention those CPUs are binned non-K because they're not as suited for overclocking.

I don't see why people are always under the impression you need to overclock your Intel CPU. There is nothing wrong with buying a non-K Intel CPU or even a K CPU and an H110 motherboard for $45. Overclocking ends up costing one about $120 more for certainly not $120 more in performance.

Nothing wrong with it, in fact i would personally just get the 6500, i was just under the impression that the OP intended to as he was thinking about getting a K series anyway

@TheMrWrecker - As feared, this thread is starting to devolve (despite my warnings). I noted that working with Tiny Voices, you appear to have come to some resolution. I would ask if I can now close this thread to discontinue any further discord.
