[citation][nom]back_by_demand[/nom]Because buying a PC in the USA and shipping it international is against the law, so therefore winning one in a contest is too...Wait ... what?[/citation]

It has to do with covering their own butt. They have to meet all the legal obligations of everywhere that they want to hold the contest. The reason RI isn't included in the contest is because you have to submit forms and pay a fee before holding the contest. Since Tom's didn't feel like spending the money there, do you really think they would want to spend the legal money required to write contest rules that work all over the world?

[citation][nom]soldier37[/nom]So many non U.S. whiners here, if you dont like it then move here. Europe and Japan always seem to get the newest tech before we do plus you have better internet speeds for the most part so I dont want to hear it![/citation]
Actually, you made me feel better about myself and sorry for you at the same time. Feel free to enter the competition you have a 100,000 to 1 chance of winning and i'll enjoy my uber-cheap, uncapped fibre optic broadband that anyone in the country can get.
Thanks!

I'm disappointed as well, looks like I'll be ordering a i7 2700k to replace my Phenom II 955. (Yes there is a 2700k coming this month with a speed bump to take away from Bulldozers launch). Its been fun AMD thanks for the memories but I need something to better balance my new GTX 580 3Gb card for BF3 at 2560 x 1600 res.

Wait... don't you have an i7-2600K, according to your hardware config?

Err no its not. I ship my laptop with me everytime I leave. I've also ordered things directly from China. And I am shipping a desktop that I built out of the country shortly, to my work place in Central America. There is nothing illegal about it.

Are you kidding me ... that had delay after delay after delay for this crap??? Seriously?

I feel like it's still 2008 for some reason. Is this a joke like a scene from that movie Groundhog Day? Other than having 8-cores these benchmarks are not better than what Intel was doing 3 years ago.

And where's the AMD PCIe 3.0 support for AMD motherboards? I've heard about the support for it in their new 7000 series GPU's but nothing, not a word about when the new AMD mobos will be coming out with PCIe 3.0 support?

New AMD Radeon 7000 series GPU Specs?

The "wait... what?" would imply it was a joke and not actually factual. There are legal issues with holding a contest though. If you dont think so, try to become a large mainstream website and hold a global contest. There is a reason you rarely, if ever, see a contest that is good for the entire world. I mean... come on... mcdonald's monopoly contest for $1 million is only in the US and canada and I dont see you all complaining about that...

wow they will announce the winner on halloween! since my birthday is the 31st this will be a great present! a hypothetical thanks THW.com!

Funnily enough they're also both disappointing products.
