I hope AMD has a competitive product with Intel, if for no other reason than to keep Intel going back to the drawing board to come up with better product (as opposed to a speed bump) and keeping their prices down to compete.

One thing I especially hope for is an enthusiast product that can overclock like nobody's business. It would be nice to take an 8 core and wrench it up to 6 Ghz on air. Whether it will happen is another story altogether.

Why did you reply to yourself?

All in all, depends on what we get when it actually releases. It could be 20% faster then a stock 1055t, but I'd like to see if it manages to take on it's competitor while staying at least 25-50$ cheaper. If their remotely the same price for performance, Intel would win.

AMD is great and all (I'm from Austin), but I just hope it's good enough to put some downward pressure on the 2600k and new Z68 price for my new CS5 build in a couple months

[citation][nom]GeekApproved[/nom]Nothing to see here folks, just a bunch of little fanboy's arguing about how their Daddy can beat up your Daddy.[/citation]
hahahaha +1
it's still fun to read. it would be much better if it was played out on a game using AMD/Intel Taunts in something like an Unreal Tourn. game!
then they could put their machines where their mouths are! blue team all Intel and red team all AMD.

[citation][nom]yyk71200[/nom]You are just envying that AMD finally brings out a superior product. If you want to see a bench, check this out: http://scarletwhore.com/?p=3277[/citation]

I expect those sorts of results, if they can be believed, would be from Interlagos (8 module, 16 threads) and not Zambezi (4 modules, 8 threads). In short, it'd be the premium server offering and not the enthusiast consumer product. AMD's server products are usually clocked lower than home products as well although, like Magny-Cours, probably utilising a quad-channel memory architecture; something to take note of.

I'm more inclined to just ignore these benchmarks and wait for the real ones. :)

I hate to toss this out (as a little knowledge is a dangerous thing :) ) but my understanding is that Llano is the 'mainstream' competitor to Sandy Bridge.

Bulldozer Zambezi is enthusiast against Sandy Bridge 'E'

And to further confuse the ignorant neither BD nor Llano is officially Fusion. Llano is a 'Stars' cores APU - 'real' Fusion comes next year when 'BD' modules are combined with the on-die GPU.

I hope I got this right --- but 'flame away' anyway!

Bulldozer is another AMD's failure. I wish AMD is gone as soon as possible. Because it's crap is not worth to be bought.

The above comes off as a bit of a fanboy comment.

Without realising it, the last 4 PC's I've had have all been AMD chips. I don't know, it's just sort of happened.

For me, if Bulldozer comes close enough to SB, I'd be tempted to buy it just to keep the trend going.

Though, if it's lower performance and more expensive then.. no.

Maddoctor reminds me of sans2212 who has been plaguing Anandtech recently, though he doesn't type "craps".

I have a feeling that BD isn't going to be the gaming CPU we've all been waiting for; its architecture looks far more suited to productivity from my standpoint. Time will tell.

90% of the market is IGP, AMD IGP way better, the Achilles heel of PCs is graphics. AMD have way better graphics. AMD wins.

You could argue that netbooks are dying because the atom didnt deliver in graphics, and that brazos will rejuvinate it. Sure looks that way from the number of OEMs signing up.

No one cares what you think anymore. The action is in china etc., where they only have fanboi$.

Intel lag AMD by years in graphics. Same goes for ARM.

Nvidea have taken a very wrong turn with their big, low yield, hot chips.

Only one company can give you good graphics, CPU and chipsets under the one easy umbrella, and thats AMD.

AMD are very sensibly aiming at sweet spots rather than sucker bait.

If you look at a dieshot of the truly tiny Brazos, it is 2/3 graphics, illustrating their target of functionality over accolades from tossers.

Compare how intel has dissed your mobo investment over the last decade. AMD has largely given customers the very attractive option of simply swapping the CPU.
“respect”

This APU thing may well pan out. With the right software mods and the most efficient on die GPU on the planet, a lot of server farms may find it very attractive. It is no longer about maximum bang, it is maximum bang per watt.

In the same way I find the poor voting repub dumb, I find alleged PC enthusiasts who cant wait to hand intel a monopoly equally so. But I guess it goes with the territory that they flatter themselves they are power users and need a $1k I7 CPU to play solitaire. Most seem barely literate. I do wish they would hide their ignorance rather than advertise it.

This isnt a survey, thats why its called comments. If you have a rational argument, we would love to hear it. Otherwise you are just spoiling it for others my making them wade thru loads of tripe.

Holy crap! I was still a young man when i first read about the Bulldozer processors,, Whoo!........Talk about taking your sweet time AMD.

I love how everyone either hates or loves this chip already. I appreciate AMD trying to innovate, and take a new course, just like they did with the latest P and P2 processors. Did they work? Yes...not nearly as well as they'd hoped, but, they still worked. I have a p2x6, humming along great at 4.3ghz. The point is, we'll see what happens when it happens. If it's good, it's great for us consumers, Intel and AMD fanboys alike. Lower prices for Intel, better performance for AMD. And, of course, it's always a win for us tech-heads when new technology works :)

Its fun to read comments about Intel killing off AMD and Bulldozer being the product that kills Intel. Bottom line is you don't want either company killing off the other, unless you like a lack of innovation and super high prices.

Can't wait to see how these baby's work out. Would love to know if they are going to be AM3 socket compatible.

I hope AMD goes under and Intel jacks up prices of their cpu's by 200%. After laying off additional US employees of course.

[citation][nom]welshmousepk[/nom]I hate people make assumptions on a brand new and un-tested architecture. Unless you can see the future, you should keep your misinformed opinions to yourselves.Bulldozer could be a failure, or the greatest thing in computing since the dedicated GPU. only time will tell.[/citation]

Yes, you hear that otacon72, you intel sycophant
