AMD Computer build

This is my first computer build and it took me a while to do my research to see if everything would be compatible with one another. My original budget was around 500$ but this build puts me over 600$.

I want to be able to Play Diablo 3 when it comes out, maybe not on max settings but medium would be good for me. Besides that this will my computer for everyday uses.

Any suggestions/ comments on my build before i order all of the pieces?

at this point, there is no reason to buy amd unles for VERY specific purposes. the dual core intel core i3 2100 plays games better then the phenom II. so does the pentium g860 in many cases, and the modern amd cant even do as well as the phenom IIs.

i would suggest you go with an intel build. and dont say amd is cheaper performance, the penom is similarly priced as the i3 and similar performance.

if it says my GPU requires a 500W power supply, is a power supply that has 520W max sufficient or should i get something that has a little more juice to it?

That's a decent budget build there.

The 520 Seasonic is a great choice for that system.

They recommend 500 watts because some companies make crappy power supplies. The one you picked out is an excellent power supply, but you could probably find a quality power supply for less money from Antec or Corsair. You need to look at the amps on the 12v rail, more than the number of watts it's rated for.

Thats not really true though is it. That 960T may unlock to an X6 and even if it doesn't it will manage 4GHZ and beat the i3 gaming. Also out of gaming it beats the i3 in many things. You can't OC the i3 so your stuck with its stock performance.

Your build is nice but one thing to avoid. Your HDD is a green series these dont perform too well as primary drives try to get a black or blue series.

Thats not really true though is it. That 960T may unlock to an X6 and even if it doesn't it will manage 4GHZ and beat the i3 gaming. Also out of gaming it beats the i3 in many things. You can't OC the i3 so your stuck with its stock performance.

I would agree, avoid the green hdd. they are great for storage, not for system disks. need to have at least a 7200rpm drive.

go with the AMD CPU if you want a future , if you go with i3 then in a few years it will be obsolete because it is a dual core.

Lovely balanced system, but swap the green drive for a blue and your good to go, and if you can invest in a Coolermaster 212 evo cpu cooler you will be able to get alot more performance out of that 960t including unlocking and OCing or just OCing it to 4ghz, dont listen to the intel chap, as you will get much more life out of your 960t as well as fun playing with it.
