870S-C45 (FX) 4+1 No 125W? Not for OC High VRM fail rate

I have the WS Revolution.
I more or less wanted you to know that info (2009) you actually knew or was just talking.
that's all.

nVidia chipset ran hot but added good latency..

Who said i was gonna overclock 😀 All i wanted is to unlock the 4th core on my athlon II until i get a phenom II X4 965

Do you think the 965 phenom II X4 can work fine on that MSI 870S C45 FX without overclocking or anything, on stock speeds

with a Black Edition 965BE since you mention it, odds are even with that motherboard
you could go maybe 3.8GHz safely, no higher..
I wouldn't trust it.

Well i'm happy at stock clocks with a 965 BE. But until i get that i will try to unlock the 4th core on my athlon II X3 if the 4th core is stable and if i get lucky i will unlock the 4th core and get the L3 cache

are betting on .?
what do you want to lose.? 😗

Get off! There are new card releases every month! Roll your neck in, rebadging the drivers and calling them new is so much better is it? And AMD seem to think the rebadging of graphic cards was a good idea because they went and done the same thing!

Will everything work fine if i connect a CPU 4pin instead of a CPU 8pin connector? My PSU has a CPU 8 pin connector i'm just curious will it work?

wait...
does the CPU socket on the motherboard require a 4 or 8-pin connection.?
if it requires 2 (8) then you'll need 2 (8), period and 1 (4) will not work.

What about if you manage to jam your tongue into the 8 pin socket when the 4 plug is also in it? The blades of the CPU HSF chewing your face into a bloody pulp might be a a bit troublesome but if you end up with a working computer then its a small price to pay, surely?

The motherboard has a 8pin socket in the upper left corner of the motherboard which is probably for the CPU. So will it work with a 4 pin connector?

I'm going to reach through the monitor and smack the .... outta you in a minute...
NO IT WILL NOT WORK LIKE THAT.

*SIGH*

holding head in hands looking down at the ground.... :pfff:

There is something really stupid about this thread. Anyways, as far as drivers are concerned, I find the 12.1 drivers to work well. Beta 12.7 is slightly buggy and I didn't bother to update for the ones in between.

Yeah OP and lets not forget how much money you'll be saving on your Electric bill should be quite a bit since it doesn't even work half the time you really scored stop complaining
