*EDIT* Sigh, it can never be easy can it... Sure the dual graphics is enabled now, but both games I've tried (Skyrim and WoW), crash either instantly or within 2 minutes whereas they ran flawlessly yesterday... it has to be related. Any ideas on how to remedy this? Apart from disabling the dual graphics I spent so much time trying to figure out.
OMG! I got it! Turns out somehow my RAM was only running @ 1600, not sure how it got changed in BIOS because I manually put it on 2400 (which is technically "supported" overclock, hope it doesn't make my system unstable *knock on wood*). Anyway, after that I was prompted to turn it on by CCC! So if anyone is having the same issue, you know you have the right hardware and drivers, check to make sure BIOS isn't underclocking/undervolting your RAM (has to be above 1866 iirc), also check under Northbridge settings and enable onboard gfx, as well as surround view/dual graphics settings. Best of luck to everyone who is having issues! Also, thank you to everyone who posted and helped me.
Hello, I recently built a new rig centered around the AMD A10-7850k (Kaveri) CPU/APU. I wanted to play with it and see its capabilities on its own, and I was impressed. However, I wanted more power so I wanted to try out this "dual graphics" thing I've heard so much about.
So I did some research, and it showed that the R7 240 and 250 cards were compatible for dual graphics. I ordered a GIGABYTE GV-R725O5-2GI Radeon R7 250 2GB GDDR5 which arrived in the mail today and installed it (downloaded latest driver, beta version as I was also directed, disabled onboard video and installed the driver package). The new card works great BUT it is not working with the CPU, it is standalone.
The whole reason I bought this card was for the dual graphics capability. Anyway, I did some more poking around and found you should be able to enable dual graphics in the Catalyst Control Center -> Performance tab. Only problem is, My CCC does not have it. I am running the most up-to-date CCC center, as well as the newest driver. What gives? I really hope my card isn't non-compatible or something... Any help in fixing this is appreciated, thanks.
