Hi world,

It' a classic: Power on, the fans run up but it doesn't POST. The Q-Code is 00. I waited for hours because of possible Mem-Training but no change.

Asus ESC4000A-E10 (all (power)cables etc were pre-attached, as usual with these systems, they all seem to sit tight)
1x AMD Epyc 7543P (it's on the compatibility list, and according to it should run with BIOS v1)
8x Samsung 128GB M393AAG40M3B-CYF (1TB), also matching exactly Asus' compatibility list, except, there are Lenovo stickers on them. Could that be a problem?
1x M.2 Samsung 980 Pro
no GPU, I am using internal VGA, Monitor is proofed to be vital

What I tried so far:
  • letting the system run for over 12h (because of possible Mem-Training but no change)
  • re-attached the CPU two times (I have no second matching CPU to crosscheck another one)
  • re-attached the whole RAM multiple times, tested multiple single sticks on the correct slot, tested multiple sticks in two-stick configuration in the correct slots
  • started completely without RAM (same symptoms, Q-Code 00, no POST)
  • started without M.2(same symptoms, Q-Code 00, no POST)
  • started without CPU (doesn't start at all, just ideling PSUs)
  • set Jumper for RJ45 Device Management Port to static IP (should be 10.10.10.10), set my PC to 10.10.10.20, connected both directly and with a switch in between but can't connect via http or https and can't even ping it. Tried both LAN ports, but there is no connection, either.
  • contacted Asus Support but they don't want to help me because it appears they sold the system a year ago without manufacturer support - I bought it new at Amazon. Don't know what that means except that they are of no help.
  • contacted Amazon Support - they would take back the system but I already bought the not even cheap RAM and I can't find alternate compatible systems...
  • I looked at the socket with magnifying goggles and saw that all the pins are in 45° - is that normal for this socket? It seems like it is.

I have reached the outer borders of my 30years of experience with building computer systems and beg for help and/or ideas!

'no GPU, I am using internal VGA' - the CPU has no integrated graphics.

The Motherboard comes with an integrated graphics chip AST2500 and the "internal VGA"-jumper is enabled.

I reset the BIOS twice and even removed the battery for some minutes.

I tried to install an old GPU but I can't fit the external power supply onto the card because of the layout of the case. I have to look for a GPU that doesn't need external power or a dedicated server layout GPU. But I think it's not very probable that that would help. And wouldn't that trigger another Q-Code?!

Not necessarily the issue, but of the three Samsung nvme's on the avl, that's not one of them:
M.2 NVMe SSD SAMSUNG SSD PCIE3 PM981A 512GB M.2 2280//SAMSUNG/MZVLB512HBJQ-00000
M.2 NVMe SSD SAMSUNG SSD P4X4(PERF)1TB M2 2280 NVME WOCN//SAMSUNG/MZVL21T0HCLR-00A00/GXA7801Q PM9A1

Ok, thank you, but the System doesn't POST and shows the same behaviour regardless if I try to start it with or without the nvme.. so I don't think that's an issue
