AMD fx-4300 Quad Core 100% usage when multitasking or gaming

I have an AMD fx-4300 Quad Core proccesor and whenever i am multitasking or playing relatively heavy games my cpu reaches 100% and my whole computers lags. In the beggining i thought it was a software problem so i formated my pc but the problem was still there.Does that mean that my proccesor is broken?

If its newer games then it makes sense the 4300 is a low tier cpu for gaming

My specs are:
Graphics card:AMD Radeon R7 200 series
RAM:4GB
Motherboard:ASRock 960GM-VGS3-FX
Proccesor:AMD fx-4300 Quad Core

Multitasking i consider when i am downloading games from steam and i am watching videos on youtube on 720p

And games Counter strike Global offensive,world of tanks,minecraft.

i think its the ram. with less ram while multitasking could be putting more stress on the cpu. the 4300 is the best Quad Core FX and is pretty strong actually, upgrade to 8gb of ram if possible. IF that doesn't fix anything pull the heatsink and clean it and put on some new thermal paste

The FX 4300, especially at stock frequencies, is a quite slow CPU. You shouldn't have too many expectations at it. It's quite slower than the previous generation of CPUs, like Phenom II X4 960-980.

If you want to alleviate the problem, you should:

a) Buy faster ram, like 2x4 or 2x8 GB DDR3 1866-2133 ram
b) Overclock the CPU to 4.5-4.7 GHz.
c) Simply buy an FX 8300 (not 8320), overclock that to 4.5 Ghz and enjoy better performance.
d) Given how cheap an FX 8300 is nowdays, FX 6300 don't really make financial sense nowadays.

Yes but the problem appeared after a year.Before that it was fine
