I am currently in the process of upgrading my rig and I was wanting to over clock my CPU and possibly Motherboard but it has been a long time and I am kind of rusty when it comes down to it and don't have the money to burn it up.

So my rig:
Motherboard: ASRock Gaming Fatal1ty 990FX Killer
CPU: fx 6300 six core 3.5ghz
Powersupply: 600 watt ( am thinking about upgrading to EVGA 750w )
Cooling: will be upgraded to Corsair Hydro Series H105
For graphics I am running an SLI of two R7 265s

I was really just wanting to get some information maybe some guides on how to be safe and do this properly I know some people swear by doing it in the BIOS and some say doing it on the AMD
Catalyst or whatever it is now is fine and I am up for either I have done both in the past. But when I say past I had help from my dad who got me into PCs back in 2005 and I can't really remember how we set it up. Thank you for the help in advance.

hey hello, i would suggest the h100i a few dollars more its perfect for overclocking, you can do it but as i said you need the cooler and the one i recommend is the h100i because i have it cooling my fx 8320 with no probs 🙂

Increase in slight increments... I'd just watch a few YouTube videos and get the recommended overclocking settings from various people, then whittle it down to how much you can press it with your hardware. Since you're using the 990FX Killer (same mobo as me, nice) -- I'd recommend doing it in the BIOS.

Okay thanks for the information I started watching some people on youtube and got a general idea. I was worried about my MOBO and if it could handle it or not but now that you said you have the same it relieves me somewhat. Thanks again!
