AMD FX-8350 or i7 3570k for gaming, email and photoshop?

Which of these processors are better for gaming, email and photoshop?

For gaming as you have put in bold, i would go for the Intel 3570k. Far better for gaming.

Intel i7 3570k is more powerfull than amd fy 8350 in all aspects like gaming,photoshop etc.

Like anything you get what you pay for. The I7 cost more but is faster than the Piledriver.

almost any computer works for email, you get better price/performance in photoshop with amd, but when you include gaming, we all swing towards i7, as long as you can still afford a dedicated gpu after that price increase.

Relly though an I5 would be 100 dollars cheaper and can do the job just fine. I would go with an I5 over either the I7 or the Piledriver.

Below is what I am running. A friend of mine told me a good upgrade would be to buy a FX8350 and a Sabertooth 990fx obo! Everyone has there own opinion about AMD and Intel. But I read that AMD fx8350 is good, but that Intel (like a i5 3570) is better for gaming. Not sure what to do? Please help!

i5 3570k is probably the best gaming cpu at the moment. But the fx 8350 is a good cpu as well. In real life i doubt most people can tell the difference.

Well if you decide to take the AMD route skip the 8350 and go for the much cheaper yet equally as capable fx 8320 (currently on sale for 159.99 at tigerdirect).

If you decide to go with intel get yourself the i5 3570k and a mid end board with it, this setup will be a little more expensive but will yield better gaming performance and faster clock for clock performance.

Either way you'll have a solid processor which in everyday usage it will be hard to tell the difference in.

I'm a noob, this is what I know:

1. I love my 3570k. It rocks w/o overclocking. I have it paired with a hd 6850 (old but good enough) to game at 1920 x 1080.
Above solution approx: $200 CPU
Mobo: $125
GPU: $150
Tot: $475

2. I just built the following for general use - light gaming:
AMD A-10 5800k + ASRock FM2 Ext 6.
Slight overclock and it's a very good performer at 1600 x 900 (older display - that's the max)
It's very good overall, but in no way does it compare with the 3570k. However !
CPU: $115
Mobo: $100
Total: $215 ... that's it ... no GPU.
This machine is the master of 'good enough'. And it appears the FM2 architecture will be around for awhile.

I don't know how the 5800k w/ your GPU would work.

Last item from my point of view. The 3570k is a better future ... ie faster - just may need to update the GPU.

So ... $500 for very good or $215 for 'good enough'.
