Hey guys, new here and just reaching out for answers as I am at the end of my rope...
Acer X223w LCD monitor
Philips 32PFL3506
Brand new Dell XPS 8300 desktop
Intel core i7-2600 CPU
8 gigs DDR3 1333MHz ram
AMD radeon HD 6670
Here's my situation. I have a 22 inch flatscreen Acer LCD display as my main monitor. I use the DVI out of the video card to the DVI in on the monitor. No issues with that at all.
If I plug the Philips LCD HDTV into the HDMI port with a HDMI cable, The catalyst control center will recognize the TV. However I get no output on the screen.
I have a DVI to HDMI adapter that I plug into the DVI port on the video card, then plug the HDMI cable from the TV into that and everything works perfectly. All HD resolutions etc. Only issue is no sound from the TV speakers of course.
I also have a HDMI to DVI cable. When plugging in the Acer display to the HDMI port using the adapter cable everything works fine.
I have a dell laptop with integrated graphics. The HDMI output to the TV works perfectly. I have also tried 3 different HDMI cables just to make sure and they all work on the laptop, but no the desktop.
I have tried every combination of adapters and cables I can think of, but I cant get the displays to work properly (eg, HDTV directly to HDMI output, while also the DVI connected to the Acer monitor). I have tried using older catalyst drivers AND newer beta drivers with no luck. I know the TV can accept HDMI from a PC because it works fine on my laptop. That also eliminates the cables (all 3 work fine with the laptop). I've also made sure the TV's firmware is up to date.
If anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated.
