Hi all,

Recently my card started showing horizontal red lines, which all together created vertical pillars all over my screen. I thought it was a bios issue so I flashed another bios via ATIWinflash. (Load program, xfx double d 7950 bios from techpower, and programmed it).

After that the card had trouble installing drivers + still red lines.

I decided to bake it. Yes, bake it.

It worked! Atleast, for some point. The red lines are gone! (So my initial problem was solved! Now I have to fix my own caused problem).

Without drivers the card boots as primary graphic adapter without problem. Any time I am trying to install the drivers some form of error comes up. It never installs te drivers saying "can't find hardwareid"

if I try to force installing a driver through device manager it says: found driver, some problem caused it to not being installed.

I tried various bioses, didn't back up my original one (fck me right).

Once I got the error "system thread exception bla bla atikmdag.sys" BSOD.

I tried completely uninstalling all drivers, didn't work.

Does anyone know what to do? Thanks!

Had no warranty. No, the card works properly without drivers, so why would it be an overheating issue?

Sonce you mentioned your card was showing red lines it was probably dying by the time you baked it. So I dont think it would be possible to revive it. But do try using Display Driver Uninstaller and boot into safemode to uninstall all remnants of the previois driver and then try installing the latest driver(16.4.1). If it still doesn't work then the gpu has reached it End of Life and youbneed a new one

It had the same problems pre-baked. It only improved after 8 min at 200 degrees. Now its functional without the drivers. Can't install the drivers because crimson can't read the hardwareID (which would be in the bios I think?)

I fixed drivers by searching google on the device ID devicemanager shows. It gave me some AMD Dell driver setup. I installed it and I got the driver working. It says that the driver is for "R9 395X". After this Afterburner was able to read the card again.

I'm confused.

''Does anyone know what to do''

time for a new card it seems all them issues you had and rejects drivers is not ever a good sign [failed]

I'd start shopping around

go here and use the '' Manually Select Your Driver''

http://support.amd.com/en-us/download

get the correct one they give if it don't take ???

I also for my older HD 7000 cards the 13.12 is the last stable driver for them the latest ones over it just not so good and issues

I already have a gtx 970. The card runs perfect with fake drivers. Found them by googling the device ID.

http://www.game-debate.com/hardware/?gid=3217&graphics=Radeon%20R9%20M395X%204GB

so it detected as a low power laptop card ??? , this is why it worked I safe lowpower state safe mode but when you install the ''right '' driver it then in its high power use state and fails

then as you see it did not detect the card correctly giving you a mobile card driver

anyway as long as your happy that's all that matters I guess [the cards done for ]

I overclocked it to the normal speeds (800mhz, 1250mhz) and ran far cry 4. 79 fps on high without any failures.=

The device ID is incorrect due to the bios flash. I didn't use "-f -p" I guess.
