So im choosing a cpu for my gaming rig

Im choosing between a amd 6 core or an intel i7

Which is better for gaming/editing?

Solution
i7 hands down,I just upgraded from an fx 6100.and damn...The difference is tenfold! and don't listen to them about the 3570k being the best for gaming and the i7 not as good for gaming because quite frankly,If you want to JUST GAME and you have the money for an i7 hell grab it,disable hyper threading...But the difference is 1-3 fps...Nothing But i got the i7 3820 and wow,I rendered a 13 minute 1080p video in 11 minutes compared to my 6100...it takes like 25 minutes. And in bf3 and every other game ive noticed a good 10-15 fps gain.

what do you mean same time?

Canada tends to run a bit higher than US computer parts, however at your budget, you should not have a problem getting an i7 into the budget and a strong gaming card. I don't think theres a wrong choice between the i5-3570K, i7 or the FX-8350. The i7 is the best performing product, as it should be since it costs quite a bit more than the other two. But for casual video editing, I still say the i7 is an unnecessary expenditure in terms of what your performance needs are described as being. But hell, if you have the money, go for it.

somebody that knows what there talking about! YES!

ah okay, but when it comes down to it which is the best bang for your buck when you aint sacrificing speed and graphics
i would do casual editing but not professionally and i would well be doing photography edits. what about the older sandy bridge i7 then? would it be too much of you to help me out with the rest of my build? maybe link me to some helpful videos
