I am buying new components for my gaming pc and its going to be a great upgrade considering I still have a Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core 3800

Let me get on with this. this is what I would buy for the AMD build

Processor http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113284

Ram http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231476

Motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131874

Already have a video card and it is a http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814103208
and Psu Corsair 600 watt

OR

Intel build

Processor http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116504

Ram http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145345

Motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131837

What is better? I don't care about a 10 fps difference I want something that I can overclock

I am going to be playing high demanding games Like battlefield 3 guild wars 2 Arma 3 all that jass

Go with the AMD. Best performance for the price, and far superior overclockability (lol) over Intels. That is an excellent processor for the cash. Don't go with the i5 unless you plan on making a hackintosh. Anyway, the AMD also has a lot better support for linux, which is what a lot of people building a pc use until they buy Windows. This seems like a great build, best of luck!

The AMD set up is perfect and a good balanced choice of parts so well done on that, both those CPUs you chose are strong choices and both will give you superb performance, so it just comes down to personal choice, if it was me id go with your AMD build, as more and more new games will be using all 8 of those cores.
