HI I'm currently building my first gaming computer. I want to be able to play games and also use OBS to stream to twitch. I'm going with a gtx 960 2gb and 8gb of ram. I can currently afford either the i3 6100 or the FX-8350. Which one of these would be better suited for my needs? I'll be playing fps shooters and GTA 5 type games.
I have $525 in total to spend that has to include taxes. If you have a build you would like to suggest that would. be great. TIA
I also already have a case it is the Sentey GS-6008 stealth II So parts compatible to it please

Solution
gamign wise the the i3 will win kinda everything.
Also ready for the not yet cpu released kaby lake.
i saw this i3 beat the l;atest amd processors in games like fallout4 (fx 9590).

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H110M-A Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($53.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Memory: G.Skill NT Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($33.98 @ Newegg)

Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 960 2GB Superclocked Video Card ($179.99 @ Amazon)
Power Supply:...
I have a decent build here, since you already have a case, i didn't put one on.

Also, i didn't put on the GTX 960 because of the tight budget, so instead i put in the r9 380x, its like 1% slower but it saves you like 40-50 bucks.

One more thing, you dont need 10gb of ram (8gb + 2gb) because most games bearly use up 6gb anyway

And if you wait another while and save up another 70-80 bucks, you should get an intel motherboard and cpu, you will get a better experience.

Both builds have 4g GTX 960's
The AMD will use a bit more power but it will perform better in games like BF4 , and especially in multiplayer maps . Over clocking will extend performance but you would also have to add a $25 cooler like a CM Hyper 212 .
The intel is in a smaller case . It will perform well enough in online games , and better in game engines that do not use all the FX processors cores.
It lacks a lot of the upgrade options of the AMD build , but it is also later technology and could be upgraded by adding a quadcore processor
