I currently have a GTX660, regrettably, in my machine with my AMD FX-6350 CPU and I'm looking at getting a new graphics card. I was thinking about getting a GTX 980 but I've also been looking at the R9 390X.
Which would you prefer for me to get. My budget is £400 on these cards.

Many thanks!

You might want to check this out before buying such a high end gpu and pairing it up with the fx 6350

anything better than a gtx 960 or amd equivalent (r9 380) will be bottlenecked by your cpu.

So I should consider upgrading my CPU as well then if i want a high end graphics card?

exactly, but you do gain fps when buying a better graphics card as you can see. You can buy one of those high end gpu's but it won't reach it's full potential because the cpu is holding it back.
