Scoob, can you go to your vcore in your bios and then type in any value you want, like 1.38 or even just 1.4, and press enter to set it ?

how do you post a pic on thread?

Exist two possible options for that:

1- U can use the following format:

2- If u use some pages like ImageShack when u select share a picture look for the option "Thumbnail Size" and select "Forums" option finally copy and paste the address in the thread

saint: i do have my ram downclocked. its on the 5.33 multiplier, so stock speeds would have it around 1066mhz. with the FSB increase its 12xxmhz. its stock rated at 1333 (1600 OC). And it will run stable till it gets to around 1550mhz, it least it did for me when I was cllimbing up the FSB increases

green:nah it only allows me to add in .025v increments. And it won't boot with +.075v. I know this. I stayed up way to late one night trying to hit 3.6 ghz stable with various confgurations

No aznshinobi F@H isn't accepted as a stability test if u want enter to the table u need an screeni of LinX (1 hour), prime95 (2 hours) or OCCT (3 hours) and CPU-Z (cpu tab, mobo tab and memory tab) and validation is optional but not obligatory.

Updated overclock.... Special thanks to saint for all his help in my thread to get here. Without him I would not have done this! Would have been stuck at 3.5ghz

First of all, I'd like to say that I'm a total beginner to overclocking. For the past week, I've read and read all the different guides and forum posts to try to understand and get a grasp how overclocking a chip works. It was quite daunting at first and was ready to give up, as not many people offer advice or share their knowledge outright in some forums.

I think this is a great thread for beginners to be able to compare different settings and to assuage the intimidation one encounters when beginning an overclocking project. Here's my contribution :)

CPU: 945 Phenom II X4 Deneb 95 watts
NAME: PiranhaMoose
STEPPING: C2
FREQUENCY: 3600 MHZ
REF*MULTI: 240*15
CPU VOLTAGE: 1.46250
CPU-NB: 2160 (9x multiplier)
CPU-NB VOLTAGE: 1.25
SB CHIPSET VOLTAGE: 1.22
HT LINK FREQUENCY: 1800 MHZ
HT LINK VOLTAGE: 1.215
RAM: OCZ Reapers 4GB DDR2 PC-6400 downclocked to 333mhz / 5-5-5-15-24 @ 800mhz
RAM VOLTAGE: 1.905
TEMPERATURE: 32C IDLE (with cool and quiet disabled) - 54C (100% load 2 hours Prime95)
MOTHERBOARD: ASUS M4A785-M
COOLING: Zalman 9500A 92mm
OS: Windows 7 Professional x86

By the way..... Dude, it's NOT a Dell! :kaola:

Peace.......

Speedfan is of the last section of stress testing but you get the idea

Please post the pict with the prime95 time visible for now I can't confirm that is stable.

I thought it was visible in that screen, Prime95 is open and it says in the main thread when it started and stopped the workers. If that's not what you wanted, what do i need a screen of?

Thanks,

Alex

Check one of the other screeni and u will the that prime95 show the total stress time at the end of each window, that what I need to know that's stable.

I have a stable overclock, tested 18h+ on prime 95, I just tried raising the NB frequency and then ran prime95 again, right as I was saving the screenshot after 2 hours and 22 minutes of torture test, I got the BSOD. So, I dialed my NB back to normal and will edit this post when I've run the Prime 95 again (Its been stable for 18h+ but didn't take a screenshot because I hadn't seen this thread yet) and have gotten a screenshot that saves without giving me the dreaded BSOD... XD

In the meantime, I'm not quite sure what to put my cpu down as, because its a Athlon II X3 440, unlocked to a supposed Phenom II X4 B40, and then overclocked. I'll just leave it as what CPUZ says it is:

Cpu: AMD PHENOM II X4
Name: DANIEL-PC
Stepping: BL-C2
Frequency: 3536.73 Mhz
Ref*Multi: 235.78*15
CPU voltage: 1.452v (which goes up to ~1.47v under load)
CPU-NB: Auto
NB Frequency: 1886
NB volts: Auto
RAM: 4GB 1572 Mhz DDR3 7-8-7-24-1T @ 1.5V
Motherboard: ASUS M4A87TD/USB3
Cooling: Air cooling / Thermaltake Contac 29
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

Like I said before, I will edit this post once I've run prime 95 AGAIN to post an image with a successful 2h+ run.

Here's the link to the cpuz confirmation thing.

Edit: Here's the image

I'm not quite sure how to get it to display at full resolution... hm... but you can see the cpu speed and that its been running for 11h+.

That's roughly what I had it at when I got the BSOD saving the prime 95 success picture. XD What's I wrote down is the 100% stable numbers. I may test one "step" under that, see if that works, I will likely test it overnight to see if its really stable though.
