@lowjack989:m frm India(Mumbai) basically....so i wud nt thnk fr overclocking.and da 75 C was after running prime95 fr half an hour. But after unlocking the cores the problem for a splash screen still continues

I know India is very hot so you need good cooling on CPU
Hyper 212+ is great but can be too big for some cases
you need at least 160mm case width for a Hyper 212
a Coolermaster Hyepr N520 is a easier fit since it is not as big but still does a great job of cooling
you also should really think about a liquid cooling system like the Antec Kuhler 620 or a H series
those are self contained water cooling setups
OCing in the temperatures in India is very tough

cooler master 212 plus is available for ~40$ (Rs 2000) in India
and evo is for ~44$ (Rs2200)
but in pics they looks same, so whats the difference between :??:
i will need a new case or maybe i will remove the cover :p so as to use it

You can see it here: http://www.overclocking-tv.com/content/reviews/13393/cooler-master-cpu-cooler-fight-hyper-tx3-evo-vs-212-evo/

As mal says, the Hyper 212 Evo is build with a "direct" contact surface while the 212+ have gaps in the contact area.

you should also look at the CM Hyper N520 IF fitting the 212+ is a problem
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103057&Tpk=hyper%20N520
the 212+ is 158mm while the N520 is 141mm from base to top of HS
the N520 has 5 heat pipes with a micro finished copper plate for cpu contact and two 92mm fans are included for a push pull
the 212+ can be a push pull but you need to buy the second 120mm fan
performance wise the N520 is pretty good
costs $40 in US usually with a 10 dollar mail in rebate to make it $30
the 212+ especially the second 120mm fan push pull is a better performer though

Thought that I would jump in here again, and show that not only is my system still up, but it's still quite stable. :D

Oh, and now it sports one more Asus HD4870DK that I picked up on eBay. :bounce:

just a heads up I had good luck on my 965BE hitting 4ghz by setting my NB freq to 2800mhz and my HT freq at 1600mhz
set my NB voltage to 1.22 also
the increase in NB helped in benchmarks noticeably and I read that the HT freq being lowered doesnt affect anything
just some friendly advice
really nice rig and good OC :)

I could probably go higher, but I'm at the stock voltage, and it's ran like this for the last year. :) I'm sort of curious on how long it is going to last. My last OC'ed AMD chip was a 5400+ BE that I had over volted, which went down after a couple of years.

Well, it didn't completely fail, just one of the cores became unstable. ;)

Seems I got a really good Phenom II. :)

 but Rajnikant runs his 955 @ 10GHz@0.8v on stock cooler

btw from screen shot, he is under 1.4v (in cpuz) (1.325v to be accurate)
an my boards auto always remains at stock, so it looks like that he is at stock too

@JBski
what is the purpose of that speaker? :heink:

good point
I should of thought of that
long day at work is my excuse LOL

:ouch:
want to fry that chip and board :heink:

in my opinion keep it below 1.475v :ange:

I have read in multiple places including Toms that a PHII Deneb is safe up to 1.55v as long as temps stay below 60C
while folding@home for many hours my CPU temp doesnt go above 55c in a 72F room
I do agree that lower voltages are better but if kept below 1.55v I feel pretty safe

That little guy, he's a throwback to a different era. :)

A PC speaker that I cribbed from an ancient 386 PC from the '90s. I've learned from experimenting that having a PC speaker and learning the diagnostic beeps from the bios is a good back up plan to narrow down issues if the computer does not post.

Here is a quick grab with prime 95 running, I'm not pulling your guy's leg, honest!

Anybody know how I can grab a screen of my BIOS settings?

i use this buzzer that is small in size and good to generate high frequency sound

some boards like asus maximus or sabertooth have feature to print bios screen otherwise use camera :p
