I have an LN2/V2 :bounce:
Where's these dewars that are cheaper than pot?

Dewars are always more expensive than pots...but you can get it "borrow" while bench and return it to the company.

Would you check with CoreTemp the VID of that CPU? Seems a good one for LN2....

Just practice...practice and more practice.

and reading,studying,reading,studying LOL

It never ends LOL
Still studying the effects of Load Line Calibration on OCing AMD CPUs

also still need to learn about all the possible memory settings.
I am very familiar with RAS,CAS etc but there is so many more memory settings then just timings

Also finding good OCing info on a particular CPU can be challenging.

For example I have read conflicting info on safe voltages for Thubans and still looking into it.

Also on an MSI 890FX board

I haven't loaded it yet, still experimental.

I have fully stabilized 1/2 cpu multi notch down (5GHz) with 1.65v and it runs low 60's under prime95/linx. I only use 5GHz for benching.

If you suffer from PTBD (post traumatic BSOD disorder), like I do xD, then all the studying in the world will not help ! :sarcastic:

currently i am running it @3.6ghz@1.275v (16x225)
and VID in coretemp is 1.4000v ,
it remains 1.4 v at 3.2@1.175v and 4.0ghz@1.45v too ,
but when c&q is enabled, it went down to 1.225, is it good or bad 🙁 :??:

also it is showing Tj. Max at 71'c ??? :??

@king
Would you check your's VID reading too ?
so as to compare it with mine 😀

That is with Folding at Home running for 5 hours with all six cores at 100 percent and HD 6870 at 100 percent usage during that time
in a 70F room

after some googling
i found that lower vid is better
but mine is higher than yours

alsi your Tj max is 99'c but mine is only 71'c
does that mean that your cpu can withstand upto 99'c and mine only upto 71'c ? :??:

TJMax is 5 degrees before the CPU will go into thermal throttle.

actually 71c is a good max temp for a Phenom II
really dont want to be over 60c on a PHII
also you can go into Coretemp and adjust your TJMax
also can set it to show delta to TJMax which is a better indicator
never want to go below a 20 degree difference to TJMax

How dooo you all stand the heat ! lol I get dizzy seeing the CPU at anything above 45 and 50c is my limit. 😗

@ smp As much as I'd like to believe them, those Thuban core temp readings are likely off by 10-15c.

The room temp was probably 20-23c when I ran this today. Whether the CPU is locked or unlocked, I always go by the CPU temp.

Actually look at the ITE IT87 sensor on HWinfo64 monitor
max temp is shown as 53c which I believe to be accurate
I dont go by the Coretemp or AMD 10h+ sensor

53C seems like the more likely max temp after folding for 5 hours

just tried doing 4.1 and 4.2
stable and dont crash BUT my core freq drops from 4000 to 1700mhz randomly while under %100 load
No good
I did score a 7.38 on Cinebench 11.5 and over 77 on the Linpack bench on Intelburntest
I am so close to getting 4.2 stable
I am really hoping this 8+1 Asus 880g/SB710 Evo mobo will do the trick
Argghh I wasted over two hours OCing LOL

Sounds like the processor power management is set to passive or AMD Fuel service is on and/or the power options are not set to performance mode. There may also be a thermal control option somewhere in the bios.

woot ! Vantage pb xD

ok... so this is my oc setting (mainly for CPU)

CPU: AMD Sempron 140
Name: Ikmalhidayat
Stepping: C2
Frequency: 3460
ref*multi: 257*13.5
CPU voltage: 1.425
CPU-NB: 1.3
NB frequency: 2048
RAM: Kingmax 2GB 857MHz DDR2 6-6-6-12-2T @ 1.80V (default)
Motherboard: ASRock N68C-GS FX
Cooling: Stock AMD Fan
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate sp1 32-bit
GFLOPS: unknown (dont know about this)

Additional info
MB can unlock cores but mine failed of maybe bad cpu
using PSU: Tatu TronMonXter Ultimate Power 600 (600W max)
using graphic card: Sapphire ATi Radeon HD 4350 512MB Quiet overclocked @61C max

Physical mods
Opened PC case (side open only)
no PC case fan at all
Graphic card is fanless so to cooled it down, i use USB 5V table fan located partially below the graphic card (the remaining side of the fan are facing towards the CPU heatsink, making it cooler
Run this at mid-night, sont be surprised on having nice CPU temp on stock heatsink (continuously running at full speed at 3390rpm)

Bios setting
Cool'n'Quiet tech disable
CPU QuietFan disable
Most of time overclock CPU using Bios.
Bus Speed: 257MHz
Voltage:1.425V
MB speed: 8.0X 2057MHz
HT speed: 8.0X 1024MHz
RAM speed: 8.0X 457MHz DDR2-857MHz
Named this setting as Agressive Clock

(uses Facebook photo instead. i dont have any picture store in internet except FB. sorry for non-FB user!!)

PROBLEM (or not a case): the reading of core speed, bus speed and ht link always change in CPU-Z. does it means my oc setting is not stable? but i dont get any bluescreen even i ran this about a day (2 weeks ago, also the same)
Old OC was CPU overclocked to 3.48GHz and very stable. but recently its not stable anymore. keep getting blue screen. now overclock to this with 1.425V, cooler cpu.
This is Stable Clock and nearest to Insane Clock (insane Clock never works)

[edit] Reedit the whole thing cuz of not following formats. sorry

Already just before blend test. but i feel curious about small ftt test

because when you test with small ftt, it looks like stable (even at 24hrs per day) but when i open game that uses cpu a lot, just less than 5 min, goes blue screen. thats why i only try to use small ftt only for short testing purpose. mostly i use in-place ftt

o yeah. my problem. the bus speed and ht link speed always changing in cpu-z (minor change) that affect my oc result (suppose to be 3460MHz but turned to 3300MHz for a second)
