Really hard to understand how someone, or anyone for that matter has such a low opinion of a company. techpro, I hope youre not using a nVidia gpu, if youve read whats going on with them, then its surely much greater than anything AMD has done wrong. I like nVidia, and tho they may have made some mistakes, my opinion on them is much higher than yours about AMD. Sure, the Q6600 was a fine cpu, as was many others in its day, including AMD cpus. But, like you said, its old, and Deneb isnt even out yet, and yet you condemn it. Problem with me is, I remember things, and I dont forget whats being said. If your say to take caution about Deneb, well thats fine, but you condemn it, and AMD as well. Having such opinions speak volumes of how much a person is willing to learn and to accept. Im still learning about Deneb and i7, as i7 is new, with its own peculuararities, and Deneb info is hard to find, yet again, youve made sweeping opinions of Deneb, while we here have been searching for the truth about this cpu.

Ill let you take back what youve said, if you wish, and hope you do, as itd be better for all of us to find a common ground, and statements like the ones youve just made leave me little room for common ground. Back when Id heard from a still reliable source that i7 may not oc, I wasnt certain about it, but couldnt see why this person had said so. Well, he wasnt privy to the whole platform, and didnt see the obvious, and was mainly speaking about something else, as everyone found out later. If Id taken your position, and was so certain, and wouldnt recommend, or find something good about i7, besides all the Intel cpus ever made, Id guess this wouldnt be the place for me, because too many people here recognize common sense when they see it, and what youre saying makes no sense, so stop, rethink what youre saying, and try again

exactly don't flame Deneb until it is out. And I think AMD will own the Q6600 this round and even be competivitive against the Q9xxx series.

This is exactly the point deneb should be going up against i7 & i7 only,
native core against native core that's it.

It just may. The i7 920 is priced close to P2 940, and when the benches come out, we will know then. If the platforms cost the same for the same performance, its a tie, if they rade blows, its a tie, if one costs more than the other, the more costly solution will be expected to perform better, maybe as much as percentage of cost to performance. Fair enough?

While saying this, are you aware that, in spite of a tremendous redesign and effort, native Core i7 is only marginally faster (or slower) than MCM Core 2 Quad in almost everything used on desktop computers - as of now - besides video-encoding and image-editing?

My point is i7 cpu's are is still better and it's the first try from Intel,
so compare AMD's first try which was a complete failure, and the second
is still beneath the i7.

I havnt seen alot of game bench comparisons on i7 vs Yorkfield, and I think theres a reason for that. Itd only be negative, as in a cost performance scenario, where the costs of a i7 system doesnt outweigh its performance in gaming vs Yorky. So, instead, show the tri sli thing alot, as thats a postive thing. Even whay Barcy was launched, sites steered away from too much negative, as all sites want the HW makers to do well, especially the cpu field where theres only 2 competitors. Same with the gpu makers, thats why you see the 5 most popular games, and how nVidia cranked their drivers for the G200 series, which isnt doing so well, it was a shot in the arm, and nVidia came thru, even tho it was all about the same 5 games. If anyone has comparitive benches for gaming, and I mean exstensive, real benches for gaming, not a suite of benches which include where i7 is clearly superior, and thats where the site spends most its time and efforts, but a gaming one, show me please

Ive seen on other forums where a Deneb/i7 comparison is out of the question, and Intel fanboys insist it isnt in the same league, so they should just stick Deneb vs P1. So, my response is, then we really need more info as concerns gaming i7 vs Yorkfield. It may be a sore subject, but I wanna know. As Im sure the vast majority of people do as well, since theres more gaming enthusiasts than any other type.

So, before everyone makes claims about Deneb OR i7, I think a respective comparison needs to be made first. i7 needs to show its worth in gaming against Yorkfield, as Deneb should first be compared thoroughly to P1, then we can go from there

My only problem with waiting for an AM3 board is the 940 isnt being made in AM3. I dont want a tri-core or anything weaker than the 940. But on the flip side I hate ALL of the 790FX and 790GX boards, plus there are only like...15 of them sold, combined. Its pathetic.

From what I have read IBM has been having problems with their 32nm and HKMG process and have had to push it back which would also push 22nm back as well.

The only thing I know IBM has put out 22nm was a cell but not working SRAM yet. Intel has 22nm working SRAM. It will be interesting to see who gets there first.

Problem with your link, it shows only 4 games, its under 10% average in 3, and the fourth, Fear, its screwed up. Any better sites/info?
Now show everyone here how AMD deserves your blind praises, with no
info to back it up.

Am I the only one that thinks the "Hydra Engine" is going to be an absolute nightmare for drivers?

i cant see a company of intels stature putting a chip on there motherboard if they had no faith in it

Id say more like pricey, and Im not so sure this doesnt help nVidia, or ATI for that matter, as older cards will work. I agree with spat, itll be 1 or the other, and I see this as Intel trying to cover all the bases, before LRB comes in, and after as well. The Inq says Intel may be taking gaming seriously, but lets see if this works or not first, and how ,uch more itll cost as well
