Hey guys.

At the moment my cpu is at it's stock speed, but I'm really wanting to overclock just a little bit higher.
I play games like
DayZ Standalone
Rust
Flight Simulator X
and all sorts

I'm wondering how much would it help just to increase my cpu speed to 3.8, hopefully it doesn't take that much effort and the heat stays relatively cool. Can you guys help me through some steps and guide me in the right direction to overclock?

Specs:
AMD Phenom II 965 BE
GTX 550 TI
8gb ram
Motherboard: gigabyte ga-78lmt-usb3

Is there a way to check what your PSU is?

Okay, so my best bet is to ultimately buy the 660 TI?

If your psu can power the card, it will give you a big boost in games. If you can find a good deal on a 660ti, 670, 760...any would be great. Amd has some offerings that would do the job as well, but they tend to draw more power and you psu is still an unknown.

Also my cpu, while playing DayZ standalone is hitting 63 degrees celcius, surely this is unhealthy. Should I invest into a cooler?

Okay, quick update here.

I just cleaned out my PC, mainly the CPU and I think the temperature on it has decreased because I hit 66 degrees on my cpu while playing a game, I also checked out that my PSU is actually 600 watts, which is definitely more than enough to power the 660 ti.
Here is a pic of my current rig, do you think the 660 TI will fit in that case?
