:hello:
Sorry if I keep on post on these forums with really noob questions, but I need some help.
Is the AMD Radeon HD 6520G 512MB better than the Intel HD Graphics 4000? And is the Intel HD Graphics 4000 better than the Intel G41 Express Chipset? Sorry if that's a really horrible question, but thanks for the help. And is the Radeon HD 6520G good? I like to play games like TF2, Minecraft, Dota 2 and such. Thanks for all the help

Solution
the A8 is much better than the A6. Both will be sufficient for everyday stuff. For typing you should try out the laptop in the store since the keyboards are usually different.
The Intel 4000 will be better than the HD 6520...but that isn't saying much, neither will offer great gaming performance. As for the G41 Express Chipset...well it's a chipset and not a GPU. The chipset is what connects the CPU to the ram to the GPU and controls how they interact, I believe it's a chipset used with Intel C2D CPUS.

AMD does have better graphics then Intel, the 6520G is just not one of them. If you're gaming on a budget, look for discrete card like GeForce GTX 560TI or Radeon HD 6870.

Well, I'm just getting a laptop for school, but also to play some games, not high end, so I'm just looking for integrated cards that can play most games on low-medium. And considering for the old games, on high.

It looks like the AMD is really good. What about the CPU itself? The AMD Radeon is with an AMD A6-3420M Quad Core 1.6GHz, and the Intel HD 4000 is with an Intel i3 2370M Dual Core 2.4GHz. Which processor is better from those 2? And which combination would be better? AMD on AMD, or Intel on Intel?

To get AMD 6520G, you need the AMD CPU. Overall in terms of CPU performance the i3 will be faster then the A6. If a program is multithreaded, the A6 is faster as it has 2 more cores then the i3.
If you want to do even some light gaming, you'll need the AMD A6 + AMD 6520G as the combination is better then the Intel HD + Intel i3, due to AMD having a more powerful GPU.

Overall it's something like this

AMD A63420M < Intel Core i3 2370M

AMD Radeon HD 6520G > Intel HD 4000

AMD A6 overall for gaming > Intel overall for gaming.

the i3 won't have HD4000, it should have HD3000

The HD 3000 is horrible.

Oh, and I didn't see your post when contrasting the two options. Will the AMD be good enough for normal work, like browsing the web, researching, Facebook, typing and stuff like that? Is it good enough for that?

And sorry if this is a bit off topic, but is this laptop any good? Is the Processor AMD A8-4500M better than the A6-3420M? And is the AMD HD 7620G better than the 6520G? I really appreciate the help
