GK-104 is supposed to actually cost a little more than you expect, more like $320-$400 according to the latest reports on Kepler. The GTX 680 is also supposed to use GK-104, so Nvidia decided against it being a simply mid-range GPU for Kepler. This seems to be in response to AMD's very lax performance with the 7000's cards when left at stock settings. Also, pretty much all of the "leaks" are easily proven to be junk if you really look into them, so it's hard to say really what will happen with Kepler. Kepler has a huge amount of lies about it's specifications going around.
