I have a Radeon 8500 in the basement, 7990 we are almost back to the 8500!!!

There must be a new agreement between NVidia and AMD, since prices have been climbing quickly despite the bad global economy. Can anyone say "another price setting agreement between two mega corporations"?

[citation][nom]willard[/nom]What's with AMD and their pricing? $849 is outrageous.[/citation]

There is no reason for them to price it lower as people will buy it. Me? No, but I'm sure people will, if for no other reason that to say (for 3-4 months until the 690 drops) they have the single fastest GPU that fits into a single slot.

And where is the competition? NVIDIA yes, but they will price their 690 astronomical too, and while it might be a better buy (maybe $800 or so) there will be no downward price pressure until the 8xxx/7xx series comes out.

I don't know why all the WOW about the price, thats how ATI stay alive, they deliver high prices till Nvidia launch the concorrent card, so they can save the fiscal year and not go bankruptcy!!
