News AMD Radeon RX 9070 series prices leak on Micro Center — starting at nearly $700 for XT versions

It's simply an unrealistic price.

My expectations is that the first 2 months those 9070XTs will go for around 900 bucks the minimum. The initial base models for 700 bucks or whatever will get sold out in hours, and then only premium models will remain which probably will sell fast too.
This comment aged poorly (thankfully) looks like i was $50 off the xt and $100 off the non-xt

Remind me what was 5070Ti MSRP?

I don't expect this to be any different story.

Now maybe there is some crazy stock of MSRP 9070s available, but I just don't see anything different from what was with Nvidia happening - MSRP cards selling out within minutes and the rest will be inflated AF.

If 9070 XT performs similar to 5070 Ti, yes, I do, but that's the limit; $750 will be the tough sell IMO, even though $50 doesn't sound like much. Scalpers can't scalp as successfully on AMD as they can on nVidia.

We also don't know if tariff pricing is already applied to these [simulated] numbers; surely, it is?

I'm not worried about it either as it would be a lateral upgrade for me, not a true upgrade. Then, I have one more generation to skip and finally pounce on what's after that.
Hey, don't be worry, AMD's AIBs sold about 1000 xt & 500 non-xt at the night of the release date in China(Yes, AMD hold an official pre-sell in China), whose availability is far more higher than NV's 5080&5070ti. I tried to get one but I doubted which MSRP version to buy so I lost the opportunity, but the "BUY NOW" button kept enabled for about 3 minutes, while 5070ti&5080 kept enabled for about 2 seconds.

In a word, according to the pre-sell, there will be plenty of MSRP cards in 3.6.

700usd for a XT ? No thanks

Will buy a 5070 or 5070 ti instead

Please do share a screenshot of your ROPs upon receipt and the 12VHPWR in a few weeks.

Also let's not forget Nvidia claims for the 5070, "4090 performance at $549".
Not even close. A 4070Ti outperforms it if you don't turn on the poo-poo 4x-FrameGen. I can get 4X-FrameGen for $8 on Steam

1500 GPUs is nothing for a launch. Remember, just Micro Center in the US had 233 5090 cards and 2300 5080 cards and they were all gone immediately. I'd guess there were probably twice as many 5070 Ti as 5080, and perhaps twice again that many for the impending 5070 launch. Factor in Amazon, Newegg, B&H, etc. and I'd guess Nvidia has already sold over 50,000 5080 and 5090 cards, and it's nowhere near meeting the demand.

There would need to be at least 10X that much (the 1500 total figure you listed for China presell) to not sell out almost immediately for the US, preferably 20X or 30X that many. But AMD traditionally doesn't manufacture as many GPUs as Nvidia, and I doubt that's changing this round.

Right after I posted that post, I found that taking the first day's pre-sell into consideration, XFX has released more than 4000 9070xt till now(actually 4057 in 京东自营).
Vastarmour has selled 200 9070xt in 京东自营,300 9070xt in AMD's non-京东自营 shop.
Except XFX and Vastarmour, other AIBs didn't release a big amount of card.
  • XFX: 4057
  • Vastarmour: 200+300=500
  • Yestone: 186
  • Sapphire: 100 (non-京东自营)
  • Powercolor: 122
  • Asus: 52
  • Asrock: 30
Through this rough statistic, all AIBs released 5000 cards, which doesn't met your demand of 15000. Meanwhile, XFX's 4000 cards are generally not sold in MSRP, only 500 cards are in MSRP while the others are 100-200$ higher.
After printed these words, now I'm sad about the stock of 9070xt. Maybe I should call my friends to help me to get one MSRP card.

If you can find an RX 9070 XT at MSRP, or even close to it, I thinks it’s a great card. I’m just skeptical about whether supply on any GPU right now will be able to keep up with demand. Good luck! AMD review should be live now.

Can't wait to get one MSRP version!
It's on sale at 10PM today in China, I'm too excited now that even at 1AM I still can't get asleep, I'll be hard to sleep tonight and be excited for the whole day!

Anyone know what all the AiB partner versions will cost? AMD might set the mrsp, but if the partners still set it at 5070 Ti prices nearly all the advantages of the 9070 XT disappear..

I have a feeling it will be 5070ti minus 200€ in my country.
There was no Nvidia cards sold for msrp, 5070 was sold for msrp+50%, 5090 +70%.

I was totally wrong. At an etailer in Romania they sold the 9070xt early at 1500€, thats insane.
Thats it this is my last PC. AMD and Nvidia can shove their gpus where the sun dont shine.

LE: The 2 biggest etailers started selling at the correct time, with decent prices. i got a msrp 9070 and this was the only one at msrp, asus prime, most 9070 are +50€ and 9070tx are 100€ over msrp, Nitro+ is 200€ over msrp

No way, none of my 4-person graphics card predator team got a MSRP card. All AIBs are crazy.

Exactly as feared. AMD's "plenty of supply" amounted to nothing and prices are basically just as bad as Nvidia's RTX 50-series. Sorry, everyone. Hindsight is always 20-20, but we definitely saw this coming. We just couldn't say for certain how bad it would be.

Apolgies, but you're wrong there. I would suggest double checking with multiple retailers about numbers.

This is a repeat of the 9800X3D from the perspective of "amount", but I will agree on the MSRP thing. There seems to be more "special models" from AIBs than MSRP ones.

Still, plenty of stock and plenty people are reporting to have obtained a 9070XT at MSRP via different retailers (physical and digital stores). I do see and have been told the above-MSRP models are being left on shelves on both sibling variants.

Regards.

Cheapest 9070xt left in stock is Nitro+ 1000€, was 900€ a few hours before.
20% vat included. 5070 is 1000€ here and 5070ti 1200-1500€.
We will see the real prices after stock ends.
