AMD Ryzen 5 1600 less fps than before

Hello,
I switched from an I5-4570 to a Ryzen 5 1600.
Bought a new mobo (MSI B350 Mortar) new RAM (Corsair Vengeance 2x8 3200MhZ) and a new CPU (Ryzen 5 1600) which I cool with an NZXT Kraken X52.
But after installing, it runs 3.2GhZ with 2133MhZ. So Overclocking...
I can get it up to 4.1 and 3200MhZ in the Bios. But my games seem to have less FPS and are less-smooth than before.
I tried these settings:
3.2GhZ with 2133, 2667 and 3200MhZ
4.1GhZ with 2133, 2667 and 3200MhZ
But none of the above give me a decent gaming experience.
My Mobo and GPU drivers are all up-to-date.
I'm lost. I don't know whats wrong.

Anyone got a solution?

Perhaps either 1) your oc isn't actually stable, go back to 3.9 and see if it helps or hurts. 2) is your CPU staying below throttling temps while gaming? Going to 4.1 only to have it overheat and slow down definitely would hurt not help performance) try ram a 2666 for testing purposes and leave it alone to ensure decent stability and testability. Play with different CPU speeds/voltages to see where your best performance is.

Also update the BIOS if you haven't. I assume since your ram is working at 3200 you probably already Did, but if not definitely update it.

1) that is probably the problem. I'll try to play with 3.9-4.1 MhZ and Volt.
haven't tried the temperature on long-term gaming yet.
Bios is updated too.

I've put it on 3.6GhZ with 2667MhZ RAM. This seems to be working the best for now.
In Cinebench it gives a CB of 1141 and FPS of 96
But when I run prime95 and blendmode the screen and my keyboard turn off after about 20 minutes, but my pc keeps running.
The voltage are both on auto (1.2V for CPU and 1.35 for RAM)

Any tips?

Set voltage to 1.30 or so (CPU) and try for 3.7, slowly go up to 3.8-9 and if you need to for stability bump cpu voltage stop around 1.35v and consider whatever your previous step was to be your stable 24/7 oc

well first thing is to test Prime on Small FFT's only. This just stresses the CPU/cache and gives you the best indication of what your max temps should be. Run prime at stock, and see what your max temp is. Then you can guage further OC'ing with a base line.
If you want to test your mem, use Memtest. Again test at stock so you know the ram works at it's rated speed with no faults. Another baseline to help OC'ing ram further down the line.

The good thing about modern mobo's/CPU architecture specially Ryzen, where all SKU's are unlocked, you can OC both the CPU and ram independently. I'd begin with just OC'ing your CPU. Get a stable OC with good temps. Then move onto getting the ram to work better. Increasing the speed to get up to the max rated for the ram (In your case 3200mhz)

So I've tried base-stats.(3.2ghz) after 30minutes on full cpu, it gave 48degrees celcius.
On 3.6 ghz it gave 56 degrees celcius after 30minutes. Which was quite stable during this half an hour.
But is it too much? should I increase voltage? Or how should I start changing things up for better experience?

Hey!

One reason why your performance maybe low is because of your parked cores. Simply, a parked core basically means it's disabled and you do not want that. Here is how to identify if your cores are parked/disabled:
Open up windows task manager > Click on the 'performance tab' at the top > at the bottom click on 'open resource monitor' > click on the 'CPU' tab at the top > On the right you may find 14 graphs. 12 graphs being your threads/cores. Make sure at the top of each graph where it says at "CPU 0", CPU 1 etc.. and make sure it does NOT say "CPU 0 - Parked".

If any of the 12 cores state they are parked or greyed out, do this:
Go to control panel > click on 'hardware and sound' > then 'power options' > then select 'high performance'.
If you can't find it then click on the 'hide additional plans' tab and it should be there.

I don't really watch voltage. I just see that in BIOS and then it gives me either 1600MhZ or the one I actually overclocked.
Giving 1600 I know it didn't work, so then I go back to the BIOS and change it.

I didn't miss it. Just didn't need it. They were all enabled.
I know the problem of my first post now. (it had a failed overclock, which gave my cpu a 1.6MhZ instead of 3.7. So that probably was the problem.

The thing now is that I need to succesfully have to overclock it, and that's where I need help for now.

Okay, I've tried a lot.
But my CPU and RAM only work on "auto" voltage. when I change any of those numbers it won't give a decent overclock. not that that is much of a problem.
It is now on 3.7GhZ, with a stable 58 degrees celcius on 100% CPU usage.
However, I can't get my Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB 3200MhZ above 2667 MhZ.
It wont start the pc if it's on 3200MhZ (might still be a bios failure tho, since MSI has been trying to fix it for weeks now. not sure tho)
Anyone got a solution for this?

Sounds like you've got the bios overclock bug. As soon as you touch the voltage or the multiplier your processor is constantly clocked to 1.2 or 1.6 in windows?

It's a pretty common problem with people on the 350 chipset.
