hey can you guys post your age cause you seem to be arguing about stuff and saying piddy is older and stuff, i figured piddy was late teens, and parlle was 20's but that seems to be wrong, so i'm 16, what are you guys. :?
like jesse said, would newegg stay up till 2 helping u fix ur computer?would they ship a replacement no questions asked within a day? no. neweggs service is very good but dells is much better
that was an example of how good there service is, i wouldnt expect u to read the entire thread but maybe next time u should consider it before comming at me like u own the world. we established that dell servers are not only very good, but that usually if a company spends 20k on a server, they buy many of them, getting huge discounts.. possibly less than the 11k ones, and while still keeping the excellent customer support. it was also said that companys that buy or build a 20k server dont care about benchmarks, they dont want it to look good. they buy it so that it runs day and night without hickups, and when theres a problem dell is behind there product 100% at any time of day or night. buying the server from monarch or newegg would be cheaper sure, but then theyd have to build it and if anything ever failed or they needed an answer to a quick question they would be SOL. again, this was all said in this thread, maybe if u took the time to read ud realize that the thread has been over for about 2 pages its just dvd **** talking, getting owned by ches, then making up a bunch of lies to make himself look good. so id like to appologize, but ur about 10 hours too late, this thread is dead.

kinda uneven perforamnce, 3.4 ghz p4 with 512 memory, u do know that windows uses somthing like 200+ mb memory by itself right? and the thing about the horror stories is that it most likely was that, a story. i agree dell laptops are nothing special, id argue that there probably one of the worst computers dell has... i seriously doubt that gateway would accept a computer for repair after warrenty expires, im sure that not one company would do that, unless u personally knew the owner or somthing, its a loss in profit and they dont have to cover it anymore, so they dont. u sent a computer from compaq out and got it back in 3 days of sending it? what do u live next store to the compaq fixit center? or did u just bring it to best buy, even with overnight shipping it usually takes a while to "fix" a computer, if it actually had a real problem with it. i cant argue with u about emachine because i love them, we have a 400mhz celeron that has been running for like 7 years with not one problem, never had it break. we no longer use it so when we got our new dell i took apart the emachine, no joke u couldnt even see the heatsink from all the dust, and yet it was still running... loud, but it ran fine
u forgot to meantion the price, u could compare the 2 dells to the 2 custom built, but without the price range its like comparing an amd duron to a p4 extreme edition, the dells could be p2 from 10 years ago, and the custom built could be 2 days old. although at the end u said u have tri xeon cpu's, with what 256 mb memory?
once again, i am aware than opteron pwns xeon, theres no reason to compare speeds of a dell server to a custom built opteron server, there faster, the arguement was over customer support and such, dual dual core opterons would pwn any xeon day and night... but like i also said before, dells only mess up over a long time or a user error, im sure it was a user error since the servers are no more than a year old... an excuse like "it would even post" (like dvd's excuse) is not a valid reason, if it doesnt post its either the users fault or its overheating. and u cant blame dell for that
